South Carolina House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford Endorses Hillary Clinton for President
With three weeks until the First in the South Democratic Primary, South Carolina House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford (SC-74), one of the highest ranking Democrats in South Carolina, endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, highlighting her dedication to Palmetto State families and commitment to addressing a broken criminal justice system.
"Everyday, I see the reality of lives torn apart by a broken criminal justice system. We need Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office to protect President Obama's progress on law enforcement accountability and reforms to the justice system -- we can't afford to move backwards."
"Hillary understands the concerns of our communities and won't make promises that she can't keep. Unlike Bernie Sanders, Hillary isn't new to issues facing African Americans. She understands the hard truths about systemic inequality that still exists in too many of our cities, which is why she'll never stop fighting for more investments in education, health care and job opportunities.
"We need someone who will always stand with us because the stakes for this election could not be any higher."
