Rand Paul's Iowa Faith Leadership Team Continues to Grow
DES MOINES, Iowa- Rand Paul for President today announces the endorsement of Pastor David Roush of Spencer and Pastor Adam Costilla of Storm Lake. With this announcement, they will join a growing list of Iowa faith leaders in support of Sen. Rand Paul for President of the United States in 2016.
Pastors Roush and Costilla will join Pastor Mark Doland of Mahaska County, Rev. Brian Nolder of Pella and Pastor Josh Davenport of Unionville on the Rand Paul for President faith leadership team.
Pastor Roush and Pastor Costilla issued a formal statements following their endorsements of Sen. Rand Paul:
"I am a Christian pastor and a father of six, and I wish to send forth my approval for Rand Paul as my pick for the GOP nominee. Rand Paul has an outstanding reputation for defending freedom, and reining in the out of control monster that is an unfettered government. Rand has an understanding of the powers that are enumerated to the government, and, perhaps more importantly, which ones are not. With these things in mind I would encourage you to avoid the big government-loving, war mongering, power hungry, pocket-padding candidates, and join me in supporting Rand Paul," said Pastor Roush.
"As a Christian and an American, I believe that the Constitution is what God has used and what he wants to continue to use in this nation to preserve the rights that he has given all men. There are not many people employed by our government who view the Constitution the same way, in fact, many will give our founding document lip service, but continue to defy it. To have a nation that will live in the frame the founders formed, we must have a leader that will not only keep our Congress within the bounds of the Constitution, but also understand the bounds it has set for himself. That is why I plan to support Rand Paul," said Pastor Costilla.
