Iowa GOP Caucus Reporting System Tested In All 1,681 Precincts
DES MOINES - This morning the Iowa GOP completed a successful test of its caucus-night reporting system in all 1,681 precincts.
Volunteer reporters, covering every precinct in the state, successfully submitted test caucus results to the Iowa GOP. More than 90% of precincts reported in the first stage of the test last week, with the final 10% reporting yesterday and today.
The Iowa GOP has held more than 300 caucus trainings — at least two per county - to prepare caucus night reporters to quickly, accurately, and securely report results using the new Microsoft app on February 1st.
“This morning I’m proud to announce that we’ve cleared a final hurdle in our preparation for the caucuses, as our reporters successfully reported test results in all 1,681 precincts,” Executive Director Chad Olsen said. “For more than a year the Iowa GOP has been preparing for the evening of February 1, strengthening our relationships with county parties, opening new offices, hiring staff, and developing a new reporting system with our partner Microsoft. This final check on the system ensures we're fully prepared for caucus night."
