Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement Action Fund Endorses Bernie Sanders
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement Action Fund on Wednesday voted to endorse U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders in his bid for president. The organization’s support stems from Sanders’ people-funded political revolution that calls for unity and tolerance. The organization also cited Sanders’ commitment to strengthening and supporting the middle class, while combating political corruption and the influence of big money interests as reasons for their overwhelming support of his candidacy.
“When it comes to the question of which presidential candidate will challenge the political establishment and lift up our People and Planet First values, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders has proven himself to be a true people’s champion,” CCI Action Board stated in their endorsement.
“Yet, what’s most promising about Sanders’ candidacy is his courage in calling for a political revolution in the United States, and his understanding that no single candidate will solve the problems facing working people today.”
“CCI has been a force for progressive change in Iowa for decades and their citizen-led, grassroots organizing campaigns align perfectly with Bernie’s call for economic, environmental and racial justice,” said Robert Becker, Bernie 2016 Iowa state director. “We look forward to working with the CCI Action Fund as partners in the political revolution through the Iowa caucus and beyond.”
