California Congressman Adam Schiff Will Meet With Hillary for New Hampshire Volunteers on Thursday, January 14, 2016
Manchester - California Congressman Adam Schiff, who just yesterday announced he will introduce a bill to repeal the sweeping immunity granted to gun manufacturers, is in New Hampshire today to open a GOTV Center in Hampton and to meet with volunteers working to elect Hillary Clinton. Congressman Schiff, who also serves as the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, knows the stakes in 2016 couldn't be higher when it comes to standing up to the gun lobby and protecting our national security.
Schiff will discuss his legislation and Hillary Clinton's record of taking on big fights and moving this country forward at the opening of a GOTV (Get Out the Vote) Center in Hampton and a volunteer and organizer training in Dover. This GOTV center will serve as a hub of activity for the hundreds of volunteers and organizers in the Hampton area.
This week, Senator Bernie Sanders doubled down on his 2005 vote to shield gun manufacturers and dealers from liability, saying his vote was not a mistake. Senator Sanders twice voted for the ‘Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA),’ a bill that the head of the NRA called the most significant piece of pro-gun legislation in the last 20 years: giving gun manufacturers sweeping immunity for their actions. In contrast, Hillary Clinton has said throughout this campaign that some fights are too important to back down. Preventing gun violence is one of them.
