In New Ad, Clinton Pledges to 'Fight Back' Against Rising Prescription Drug Costs
As part of Hillary Clinton’s commitment to helping middle-class families deal with rising costs, Hillary for America's latest TV ad, "Doubled", highlights Clinton's plan to lower out-of-pocket expenses related to prescription drugs. At a time when, as the ad notes, seven out of ten Americans are taking prescription drugs, those drug prices have doubled.
Clinton’s plan would require Medicare to negotiate lower prices, allow people to buy less expensive drugs from places like Canada, and cap monthly drug costs for all Americans.
“The drug companies have been overcharging for far too long. It’s time we fight back,” says Clinton in the ad.
Clinton has laid out a detailed plan to tackle prescription drug costs. It is available here.
