Martin O'Malley Becomes First Candidate to File in South Carolina
BALTIMORE, MD - This morning, Governor O'Malley became the first presidential candidate to file to appear on the South Carolina ballot. The following quote can be attributed to campaign manager, Dave Hamrick:
"We are thrilled that Governor O'Malley is the first candidate to file in South Carolina. After Governor O'Malley won Saturday's debate, it's clear that Democrats need a nominee with his record of actions, not words. We are building a strong grassroots organization for the governor to win the Palmetto State."
Governor O'Malley's filing comes after the announcement of key endorsements from Trip King, John Moylan, and former State Representative Ginger Crocker.
Governor O'Malley's South Carolina leadership team includes State Senator Vincent Sheheen, Former State Representative Boyd Brown, Charleston City Councilman Rodney Williams, and Former South Carolina Judge Mullins McLeod. In addition, former Draft Biden State Director, Isaiah Nelson, serves as a senior advisor to Governor O'Malley's South Carolina operation.
