Alexandria, Va. - November 10, 2015 - Yesterday, Dr. Ben Carson, retired neurosurgeon and GOP presidential candidate, qualified to be on Kentucky’s ballot in the state’s first-ever caucus, to be held on March 5, 2016.
“Thank you to all the hard working Kentuckians who donated to and supported our campaign,” said Dr. Carson. “I anticipate gaining the support of Kentucky's Republican primary voters by spreading my vision for bettering our nation.”
“I also want to congratulate Governor-Elect Matt Bevin for winning his recent election,” added Dr. Carson.
On March 5, 2016, Republicans across Kentucky will caucus and cast their votes in a Presidential Preference Caucus. The candidates will be competing for Kentucky’s 45 Delegates to the Republican National Convention, which will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, July 18 to 21, 2016.
According to the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal national survey, Dr. Carson is the leading contender for the Republican presidential race with the support of 29 percent of the GOP’s primary voters and the only Republican currently leading the Democrat frontrunner.
