Martin O'Malley for President Fundraising Update
BALTIMORE, MD - In the 24 hours following the first Democratic presidential debate, O'Malley for President received the most contributions online thus far in the campaign. In addition, our website, martinomalley.com received the highest number of both unique and new visitors of any 24 hours of the campaign and the most online signups of any day of the campaign including his announcement. And in Iowa, our campaign scheduled more volunteer shifts than any other night.
In the second quarter of the campaign, O'Malley for President raised $1.3 million and gained thousands of new donors. Governor O'Malley is running a campaign focused on big ideas and retail politics, which is why we are proud that 5% of the total contributions received this quarter came from supporters in the early caucus state of Iowa.
Statement from Martin O'Malley for President campaign manager, Dave Hamrick:
"Governor Martin O'Malley is not the candidate of Big Banks - he is the candidate of big ideas. That's why we are proud that our campaign is being fueled by support on the ground and more of our contributions came from Iowa than New York.
"For the first time, Governor O'Malley was able to introduce himself and his record of progressive achievements to a national audience this week. This is a fight that is just getting started, and our campaign has raised the funds necessary to continue introducing Governor O'Malley, doing the retail work in early states like Iowa and New Hampshire, and building the grassroots support we need to win."
