Rep. Joaquin Castro to Stump for Hillary Clinton, Talk Immigration Reform in Iowa
On Sunday, August 30, U.S. Representative Joaquin Castro (TX-20) will campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Iowa. While in the Hawkeye state, Castro will attend organizing events in Iowa City, Marshalltown and Des Moines, and speak to the Progress Iowa Corn Feed.
At the events, Castro will discuss the four fights Clinton has promised to wage as president. In particular, Castro will highlight Clinton's call to strengthen our families and communities by passing long-overdue comprehensive immigration reform. Clinton has said she would defend DACA/DAPA so parents and children don’t have to live in fear of deportation, and if Congress refuses to act, would go further so others—like many parents of DREAMers and others with deep ties and contributions to our communities—have an opportunity to make their case and be eligible to stay.
