Rand Paul Plans to Prescribe Constitutional Conservative Vision at First Republican Debate
WASHINGTON, D.C.- TONIGHT, Sen. Rand Paul will be participating in the first Republican debate, sponsored by the Fox News Channel and co-sponsored by Facebook. The debate will take place in the Quicken Loans arena in Cleveland, Ohio and will be moderated by Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly, and Chris Wallace of the Fox News Channel.
During the debate, Senator Paul will outline his constitutional conservative vision for America, where fiscal responsibility will combine with competition and innovation to usher America into a new age of prosperity. To this end, Sen. Paul will discuss his new 'Fair and Flat' tax plan, which will eliminate the cumbersome 70,000-page tax code, and replace it with a 14.5 percent flat rate. Sen. Paul understands that America will return to prosperity when more money is left in the pockets of those who earned it.
Sen. Paul will also explain his views on national security, which he views as the federal government's number one priority. Sen. Paul follows President Reagan's mantra of 'Peace Through Strength,' and understands the importance of defending American interests, rather than constantly intervening abroad.
Finally, Sen. Paul will discuss the importance of upholding the Constitution and the entire Bill of Rights. Sen. Paul is unique among presidential candidates in that he supports each citizen's right to privacy afforded by the 4th Amendment, and opposes the ability of the federal government to examine citizens' data records without a warrant.
Grassroots supporters and activists throughout the country are gathering for over 80 debate watch parties. Checkout Rand Paul's Facebook page to find a watch party near you.
