Governor Martin O’Malley to Launch "Rebuild the American Dream" Tour at Iowa State Fair on August 13, 2015
The former Maryland governor will roll out his bold vision of 15 Goals to Rebuild the American Dream in Iowa this afternoon
Des Moines – Today, Thursday, August 13th, Governor Martin O’Malley will roll out his 15 Goals to Rebuild the American Dream at the Iowa State Fair Soapbox in Des Moines, and launch his “Rebuild the American Dream” tour which will include more than 15 stops in Iowa over the next three weeks.
Governor O’Malley has provided bold progressive leadership in the two months since the launch of his campaign. He's put forth detailed policy plans on climate change, debt-free college, comprehensive immigration reform, criminal justice reform, and reining in Wall Street. With the release of his 15 Goals to Rebuild the American Dream, and the corresponding tour of Iowa, Governor O’Malley continues to lead by example as he runs on his big ideas and record of getting things done.
Governor O’Malley has made Iowa the focus of his campaign and spent more time in state than any other Democratic candidate since announcing on May 30th. O’Malley will continue to devote significant time in Iowa this summer with his "Rebuild the American Dream Tour," focusing on retail politics in the Hawkeye state, where a hand shake and an honest conversation matter far more than even the largest rally.
This three-day swing marks O’Malley’s eighth trip to Iowa since announcing his campaign, and includes a speech at the North Iowa Democratic Wing Ding in Clear Lake on Friday as well as grassroots events in Cedar Rapids, Cedar Falls, Council Bluffs and a field office opening in Sioux City.
In the coming weeks Governor O'Malley's "Rebuild the American Dream" tour will also include stops in Indianola, Fairfield, Mt Pleasant, Davenport, Muscatine, Sheldon, Storm Lake, Ames, Grinnell, Iowa City, Des Moines and more.
