Iowa Radio Host Steve Deace Endorses Ted Cruz for President

HOUSTON, Texas – Today, Iowa-based syndicated radio host and outspoken conservative activist Steve Deace endorsed U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, for President. Deace, who broadcasts from Des Moines, Iowa, and appears on more than 50 stations nationwide, said Cruz is the conservative leader who can win a national campaign.

“He’s what we’ve been waiting for: an end to the false choice between our principles and electability,” said Deace. “He has proven courage of conviction, a commitment to our principles, but he’s also raised the resources and put the sort of national campaign together on the ground that it takes to actually defeat the GOP establishment for the nomination. He is ready to run a national campaign. And we believe this makes him our best chance to offer the American people a real choice and not an echo for a change.”

Steve Deace has been a fixture in Iowa broadcasting for more than a decade and is an influential opinion maker across the Hawkeye State. He was instrumental in the effort to recall three judges in Iowa who struck down a democratically enacted state law affirming traditional marriage. Earlier this year, he moderated the first candidate joint forum of the presidential cycle and has been a tireless advocate for liberty, fiscal responsibility, and traditional American values.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 19, 2015 – Microsoft today announced it will sponsor a media center at Capital Square in downtown Des Moines for the 2016 Iowa Caucuses.  The Microsoft Media Center will serve as a nexus for local, national and international media, providing outlets with a place to report on the lead up to and results of the first-in-the-nation Iowa Caucuses.

In making this announcement, Dan’l Lewin, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Technology and Civic Engagement, said: “The Iowa Caucuses are no doubt one of the more unique forums for civic engagement.  As the world looks to Iowa in early 2016, Microsoft looks forward to providing a unique, innovative experience for the media to share Caucus results from one of Central Iowa’s premier locations.” 

The Microsoft Media Center will offer connectivity and work stations to provide media coming in to cover the Caucuses with a temporary, centralized workplace.  For the general public, interactive displays will provide information about each candidate across the State of Iowa as well as Caucus results and information for each county.  

“The world will have its eyes on Iowa for the 2016 Caucuses, and both parties are committed to ensuring Iowans and those covering the night's events have an incredible experience,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Andy McGuire.  “Our joint media center will provide reporters with a central home to share our Iowa story across the globe.”

“Our first in the nation status is a bipartisan achievement and we will always work together to prove we deserve this honor,” said Republican Party of Iowa Chair Jeff Kaufmann.  “This joint media center will allow reporters to easily report results from both parties on Caucus night in a high-tech, world-class media center.”

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Prior to his scheduled visit to Cheyenne and Casper, WY, Sen. Rand Paul secured endorsements from State Representative Tyler Lindholm and State Representative Kendell Kroeker. Lindholm and Kroeker join Congressman Cynthia Lummis, Western Co-Chairman for Rand Paul for President, and hundreds of other Wyoming grassroots activists on the Rand Paul for President western states leadership team.
 
State Rep. Tyler Lindholm is longtime resident of Sundance, WY. After graduating from Sundance High School in 2001, he joined the U.S. Navy and served for five years. For over seven years, he has worked in the Power Industry and is currently Lead Journeyman Electrician for Basin Electric Power Cooperative. He also works for his family's cattle ranch. State Rep. Lindholm was first elected to the State House in 2014.

New Hampshire GOP Leaders Doug and Stella Scamman Endorse John Kasich for President

NEW HAMPSHIRE GOP LEADERS DOUG AND STELLA SCAMMAN THINK JOHN KASICH SHOULD BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Today lifelong New Hampshire public servants and Republican activists Doug and Stella Scamman announced their endorsement of Ohio Governor John Kasich for President, saying the governor “stands out as the best among many very good candidates for President and will provide the leadership we need in Washington.” 

The Scammans will serve as New Hampshire State Co-chairs of Kasich’s campaign.
“In Congress, as Chair of the Budget Committee, John Kasich led the way in passing a balanced budget, showing he can work with all factions of Washington to accomplish great feats.  He knows foreign policy from serving years in Congress.  As Governor of Ohio, John Kasich turned an $8 billion budget deficit into a $2 billion dollar surplus while making state government more efficient and delivering better services. 

When a state like Ohio re-elects their Governor with 64 percent of its vote, one knows that Governor Kasich has done what he is telling us," said the Scammans.  “His leadership, his experience with crafting the federal budget, his goal of promoting policy rather than partisanship, telling his story rather than criticizing others, and working to bring all people together rather than divide the nation is what makes John Kasich stand out.  Governor Kasich’s positive approach is what we need in Washington.”   
              
Doug Scamman served 13 terms as a New Hampshire state representative and was elected Speaker of the House three times.  Stella Scamman served three terms in the New Hampshire House, was a member of the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees for 12 years, and is active with the Seacoast Republican Women.  In 2014, the Scammans received the Granite State Award from the University of New Hampshire in recognition of their outstanding contributions to New Hampshire.  The Scammans have hosted countless local and national Republican candidates over the years at their Bittersweet Farm in Stratham, including Mitt Romney’s announcement for President rally in 2011.

“The Scammans are legends in New Hampshire politics and I appreciate their support very much.  They will be an important part of our campaign’s efforts in the state and critical to our success.  I’m very excited about what we’re going to be able to do together,” said Kasich.

Des Moines – Following an inspiring speech at the Iowa State Fair and impassioned remarks at the Wing Ding, where he was called “the best of the day,” “the most worth watching,” and an executive who has “proven himself on the state level,” Governor O’Malley will return to Iowa this Saturday, August 22nd, for a two-day swing as part of the Rebuilding the American Dream tour.
 
Governor O’Malley “did the State Fair right” last week, according to media reports, and “scored points with his calls for progressive action ” with a crowd that stretched “nine rows deep beyond the seated crowd.”  O’Malley made a strong case for new leadership and highlighted his long record of getting things done on progressive values. This week, he will hold multiple events around Iowa on the second leg of his Rebuild the American Dream tour, discussing his bold 15 Goals to Rebuild the American Dream.
 
Governor O’Malley has made Iowa the focus of his campaign and spent more time in state than any other democratic candidate. This is his ninth trip to Iowa since announcing on May 30th. Gov. Scott Walker Announces New Hampshire Campaign Co-Chairs
Gov. Scott Walker today announced Cliff Hurst, Phyllis Woods, and Chris Wolfe as statewide co-chairs for his presidential campaign in New Hampshire.

Walker has already experienced strong support in the Granite State as he's shared his message of reform and results, and the campaign will continue to compete aggressively to win the first-in-the-nation primary.

"No one knows the Granite State – and what it takes to win its primary – better than these three great leaders," said Walker. "It is a pleasure to have Cliff, Phyllis and Chris on our team, and I thank them for their gracious support of our campaign. With their help, we'll continue to share our record, our message, and our vision for a better America in this early primary state where we have a real pathway to victory."

Walker begins a three-day tour through New Hampshire today, his sixth trip this year, with a stop at the New Hampshire Education Summit, a health care town hall in Barrington, and a house party at Chris Wolfe's home in Derry. He will also make several stops throughout the state on Thursday and Friday.

Biographies

Cliff Hurst is the former Vice Chairman of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee (2011-2012) and former Chairman of the Manchester Republican City Committee (2004-2005, 2010). Hurst has been actively involved in previous presidential campaigns in New Hampshire. Hurst is a sales consultant at Merrimack Street Volvo. Previously, he founded Hurst deGraffenreid Wealth Management and served as Director of Human Resources at the Palazzi Corporation. He was also Senior Vice President and COO of CEI Corporation from 1981 to 1986. In the 1960s and 1970s, Hurst served as a civilian clergy member to the U.S. military.

Phyllis Woods formerly served four terms as a New Hampshire State Representative from Dover. She is an active member of several local, county, and statewide Republican committees in New Hampshire, a former executive board member of the New Hammpshire Republican Party, and a former chairman of the Strafford County Republican Committee. Woods also served as an RNC national committeewoman for New Hampshire from 2007-2012.

Chris Wolfe, an entrepreneur and longtime New Hampshire political activist, has been a Granite State resident for 34 years. He has been involved with several Republican campaigns over the years, including, most recently, Walt Havenstein's campaign for governor, Scott Brown's and Kelly Ayotte's campaigns for U.S. Senate, and Mitt Romney's and John McCain's campaigns for president. He was chairman of the Derry GOP, the largest Republican community in New Hampshire, for 10 years from 1996-2006.

Additional members of Walker's New Hampshire leadership team will be announced in the coming months.
