BALTIMORE, MD—O’Malley for President Deputy Campaign Manager Lis Smith released the following statement on tonight’s GOP debate:
 
“Tonight’s Republican debate made one thing clear: we need more debates – on both sides. We also need new leadership and we need to beat back the failed policies of the past.
 
“Democrats have a real choice in this election. They have a choice between the future and the past; between progressive values and triangulation; and between forging public opinion and following it.
 
“If we want to beat the Republicans in November 2016, we won’t beat them with Republican-lite positions. We need to bring bold, progressive values and new leadership to the debate—and we need someone who has actually gotten things done."
