AT TONIGHT’S DEBATE, JOHN KASICH’S EXPERIENCE COMES THROUGH ONCE AGAIN
His Conservative Approach Worked in Ohio and He Will Make it Work for America
"America is a miracle country, and we have to restore the sense that the miracle will apply to you, each and every one of the people in this country who's watching tonight. Lift everybody, unite everybody, and build a stronger United States of America again. It will be, it can be done.”
CLEVELAND – At tonight’s first Republican presidential debate, John Kasich did what he does so well: connect with Americans on the concerns that are keeping them up at night—their families’ safety, their jobs and whether or not they’re going to be able to share in the American Dream.
Like no one else, John Kasich made clear in the conversations tonight that he has successfully put conservative ideas to work to produce the results that help Americans rise:
• He balanced budgets in Washington and Ohio—the ultimate swing state;
• He helped reform and improve the military to keep America safe;
• And he’s brought people together and reached out to those in need to help everyone rise.
Gov. Kasich continues to do what people say can’t be done. In only two weeks as a candidate for President he’s gone from the back of the pack to 2nd in New Hampshire and leapt over half-a-dozen other candidates to make the debate tonight. The reason is because as Americans learn more about John Kasich’s experience and record of results they agree he’s got what it takes to get our country back on track starting on Day One of his presidency.
As President, John Kasich will help Americans do what many say can’t be done: balance the budget to revive our economy, strengthen our military to keep Americans safe, and bring Americans together to restore our nation.
Gov. Kasich is running for President to help Americans restore our nation, live in safety and pass on prosperity to those who come after us—and he’s got the experience to help us do it. He was reelected last year by a 30-point margin after working with his fellow Ohioans to turn an $8 billion shortfall into a $2 billion surplus, cut taxes $5 billion and create 350,000 jobs. As chair of the Budget Committee in Congress he led the effort to balance the federal budget for the first time in a generation and served 18 years on the House Armed Services Committee where he helped enact President Reagan's national security agenda. He has also had a successful career as an investment banker, New York Times best-selling author and at FOX News. He and his wife Karen have twin teenage daughters and live in their home outside Columbus.
