Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks Elected to Iowa GOP's State Central Committee
Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, former congressional candidate for the Second District, was elected to the Iowa GOP’s State Central Committee this morning.
Dr. Miller-Meeks was elected with 75% of votes cast by the Second District Executive Committee, which is comprised of county chairs and co-chairs in the Second Congressional District. Miller-Meeks is replacing Bob Anderson, who resigned June 27th to move closer to his family out of state. The meeting was held at the Iowa GOP’s new office in Ottumwa.
“Dr. Miller-Meeks is respected by all who know her and a true leader in Iowa. She will be a fantastic addition to our Central Committee, and I look forward to working with her to elect Republicans across Iowa and take back the White House in 2016,” Chairman Jeff Kaufmann said.
“As a doctor and veteran, I know first-hand how important it is that we elect Republicans to all levels of government. I intend to work with Chairman Kaufmann and my colleagues to further the Republican cause and ensure Iowans are given the representation they deserve,” Dr. Miller-Meeks said.
Dr. Miller-Meeks, an ophthalmologist, served in the Army for more than two decades. She currently lives in Ottumwa.
