More Than 250,000 Supporters Power Hillary Clinton to Record-Breaking Quarter
Hillary for America has filed its first quarterly report with the Federal Elections Commission showing that it raised more than $46 million in primary funds, thanks to donations from more than 250,000 contributors representing all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and the territories. That total, a record for a candidate in their first quarter running, allowed the campaign to make smart investments in order to build an organization designed to win the primary and the White House.
The campaign is driven by a broad and diverse group of supporters, more than 60 percent of whom are women and with 94 percent of the donations coming in amounts of $250 or less.
“Thanks to the more than 250,000 Americans who have stepped up to support Hillary Clinton’s campaign, we have had the ability to make critical investments in our organization that will put us in position to win the primary and the White House,” said campaign manager Robby Mook. “With Republicans tapping their billionaire backers for unlimited sums of money, we are glad to be able to have such broad support to be able to show why Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who will fight for policies that allow everyday Americans to get ahead and stay ahead.”
