Senator Rand Paul Successfully Delays Patriot Act Reauthorization

ON THE RECORD: Because of Senator Paul's ten and a half hour filibuster, the Senate adjourned late last night without moving to proceed to the reauthorization of the Patriot Act.

ON BACKGROUND: The absolute earliest the Senate can vote on the motion to proceed to the Patriot act is on Saturday, meaning that if the Senators would like to continue to unconstitutionally gather private information on Americans, they are going to have to do it through the weekend or into next week.
