RSLC Announces Caucus Executive Directors
Washington, D.C. (April 28, 2015) – Today, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) announced the Executive Directors of its three caucuses – the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association (RLGA), Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC) and Republican Legislative Campaign Committee (RLCC) – and its two recruitment initiatives – the Future Majority Project (FMP) and Right Women, Right Now (RWRN). Each director will work to recruit, support and elect conservative leaders on the state level for the 2015-2016 election cycle.
“I am very excited for the team we have assembled for the 2015-2016 election cycle,” said RSLC President Matt Walter. “The 2013-2014 cycle brought our Party record high numbers of conservative elected leaders on the state level, and I know our new Executive Directors are up to the task of raising the bar even higher this cycle.”
The 2015-2016 Executive Directors are:
• Scott Binkley, RLGA Executive Director: Binkley joins the RLGA from the Republican Governors Association, where he served as the Director of Corporate Memberships. He has previously held finance positions on senate and congressional campaigns. At the RLGA, Binkley will lead the only national organization dedicated to electing Republican lieutenant governors. Republicans currently hold 31 of 45 lieutenant governor positions.
• Emily Keech, RSSC Executive Director: Keech joins the RSSC from LEVICK, where she was a Government Affairs Manager. Before that, she served as the Deputy Director of Member Services in the office of former Majority Leader Eric Cantor. The RSSC is committed to supporting and electing Republican secretaries of state across the country where we currently hold 28 of the 50 secretaries.
• Kiley Smith, RLCC Executive Director: Smith takes over at RLCC after serving as RLCC’s Assistant Director last election cycle. In 2012, she was the RNC’s Political Education Director and has held previous positions at the RGA and on statewide campaigns. The RLCC – the only national organization exclusively electing Republican state legislators – currently holds majorities in an all-time Party record of 69 out of 99 state legislative chambers.
• Neri Ann Martinez, FMP Executive Director: Martinez will serve for a second-straight cycle as FMP’s Executive Director and continue her work recruiting, supporting and electing new women and candidates from all diverse communities. Last cycle, FMP elected 43 new diverse candidates at the state level. Immediately prior to joining the RSLC, Martinez served as the RNC’s Hispanic Outreach Director in North Carolina in 2012.
• Courtney Johnson, RWRN Executive Director: In 2013, Johnson helped launch Women Lead PAC and serves as its Executive Director. She previously served as the Deputy Coalitions Director for Romney for President in 2012 and worked on Meg Whitman’s campaign for Governor of California. Since its founding in 2012, RWRN has elected 222 new women to office at the state level.
The Executive Directors join returning RSLC senior staff Matt Walter, President; Erin Veltman, Deputy Executive Director and previous RLCC Executive Director; Staci Goede, Chief Financial Officer; Justin Richards, Political Director; and previously announced Communications Director, Ellie Wallace.
