NCGOP Announces Governor Scott Walker as a Featured Speaker for 2015 State Convention
Raleigh, NC – The North Carolina Republican Party is excited to announce that Governor Scott Walker will be one of our featured speakers at our 2015 State Convention. The Convention will take place from June 5-7 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, NC. Governor Walker will be our keynote speaker at dinner on Friday, June 5.
North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Claude E. Pope, Jr. released the following statement:
“We are excited to announce that Governor Scott Walker we will be our featured speaker on Friday night at the NCGOP State Convention.
There are few examples of a leader who has taken on liberal special interest groups in his state such as Governor Walker. He was elected to the State Assembly in 1993, as Milwaukee County executive in 2002 and as governor in 2010. During his tenure as governor of Wisconsin, he has faced many challenges, but he has balanced the budget, cut income taxes across the board, reduced property taxes every year in office, made the largest deposit to the state’s rainy day fund in history and even sent back a surplus to the hardworking taxpayers. Walker triumphed in the midst of left-wing activists protests; winning a recall election by a margin that surpassed his successful run for governor in 2010.
I look forward to having Governor Walker and many other Republican leaders address our State Convention the weekend of June 5-7.”
