Des Moines Register to Livestream the Iowa Agriculture Summit West

Des Moines, IA – The Des Moines Register will livestream Saturday's first-ever Iowa Agriculture Summit from the Iowa State Fairgrounds. "With approximately 1,000 people expected in the audience and roughly 250 credentialed media, we know a number of people who would like to see the event live just wouldn't be able to do so were it not for this option," said Bruce Rastetter, the Iowa entrepreneur and philanthropist who is organizing and hosting the summit.
Kelli Brown, Des Moines Register content strategist for digital and multimedia, said a link to the event will at DesMoinesRegister.com/AgSummitLive and livestreaming will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue until the summit ends at approximately 3:40 p.m.
The stream is available on the web via mobile and tablet devices and via the Register's apps and the Des Moines Register Caucus App.
Potential presidential candidates scheduled to appear on stage one-on-one with Rastetter include Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Gov. Jim Gilmore of Virginia, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, former Gov. George Pataki of New York, former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, New York businessman Donald Trump and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. Each candidate's time with Rastetter will last 20 minutes as they answer questions about the broad range of issues facing American farmers and agribusinesses, including modern agriculture practices, renewable fuels, biosciences, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), grain and livestock markets, land conservation, federal subsidies and other related topics.
