Senator Rand Paul Proposes Real Solution For Detroit
WASHINGTON, DC - It is great to see Governor Jeb Bush follow Senator Rand Paul's lead in proposing solutions to revitalize Detroit. Senator Paul visited Detroit twice over the last 2 years. While there, he introduced specific proposals and helped to open the first GOP office in Detroit. We hope Governor Bush continues to emulate Senator Paul by detailing his proposals and reaching out to help the party. Senator Paul will continue to lead the way in expanding the Republican party by bringing real solutions to American cities like Detroit.
Senator Rand Paul's Detroit Action Plan
• To promote economic growth by reducing individual and corporate taxes to five percent.
• To allow more money for the local economy by reducing the payroll tax by two percent.
• To leave more capital in the local economy by suspending the capital gains tax.
• To promote job creation by repealing the Davis-Bacon Act minimum wage requirements.
• To encourage entrepreneurs from around the world to bring their businesses to Detroit by expediting visas for any person who wishes to invest $50,000.
• To decrease punitive regulations that currently suppress local businesses and cost Detroit millions of dollars each year.
• To eliminate mandatory minimum prison sentencing and allow for judicial discretion.
• To restore voting rights for non-violent drug crimes.
• To advocate for job training for non-violent drug offenders so they can contribute to the local community.
• To allow for educational decisions to be made at the local level by advocating for school choice.
• To provide parents with $5,000 educational tax credit.
• To make the Republican Party bigger, better, and bolder by increasing GOP engagement in inner city communities.
