WASHINGTON –Today, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus announced the Committee on Arrangements new officers that will assist Committee Chair Steve King and Committee Co-Chairman Jo Ann Davidson in organizing the 2016 RNC National Convention. Enid Mickelsen and Glenn McCall will serve as the committee vice-chairs, newly-created positions that will be responsible for splitting responsibilities to enhance the delegate experience in Cleveland. Tony Parker will assume the role of treasurer and Susie Hudson will serve as secretary of the Committee on Arrangements.

“I’m excited to welcome Enid, Glenn, Tony and Susie to the committee, and I have no doubt they will work tirelessly to ensure our party will have a successful national convention,” said Chairman Priebus. “The COA is comprised of strong leaders who have dedicated their lives to this party and have the experience to lead and organize an event of this magnitude and importance. These individuals will help take our case to the American people. We will champion freedom and opportunity, while making a contrast with the Democrats and their big government platform. And we will officially nominate our candidate for president, who will be our next Commander-in-Chief."

Vice-Chairman Enid Mickelsen
 
Enid Greene Mickelsen represented Utah in the United States House of Representatives in the 104th Congress (1995-96), where she served on the House Rules Committee.  A former litigation attorney with a major Salt Lake City firm, she worked as deputy chief of staff to Governor Norman H. Bangerter.  Mrs. Mickelsen is a former Chairman of the Utah Republican Party, and is currently Utah’s National Committeewoman to the Republican National Committee, where she serves on the Budget Committee and the Rules Committee.  Mrs. Mickelsen received her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah and her law degree from Brigham Young University. For five years, Mrs. Mickelsen hosted a talk show on KSL Newsradio (“The Enid Greene Show”), and continues to appear as a frequent commentator on television and radio. Active in her church and community, Mrs. Mickelsen and her husband, Judge Scott Mickelsen, are the parents of four children and two grandchildren.
 
Vice-Chairman Glenn McCall
 
Glenn McCall is the Chairman of the York Country Republican Party and South Carolina’s National Committeeman to the Republican National Committee. McCall has also served as the second vice-chairman for the South Carolina Republican Party, State Republican Executive Committee member, vice-president of the state convention, chairman of the awards committee for the South Carolina Republican Party, delegate to the Republican National Convention and county, district and state convention delegate. McCall has also served as senior vice president of the Major Financial Services Corporation.
 
 Treasurer Tony Parker
 
Tony Parker was re-elected in January of 2015 to a third term as Treasurer of the Republican National Committee. He was also the Treasurer for the 2012 Republican Convention and served on President George W. Bush’s national finance team. Tony was the District of Columbia’s Republican National Committeeman from 2004 through 2012 and was a delegate to the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Republican Conventions. He was on the Committee on Contests at the 2008 Republican Convention. Mr. Parker is the founder and CEO of Parker Tide Corp., a government contracting company providing human resource, procurement and adjudication resources to the federal government, with projects in 12 states. Previously, Mr. Parker spent over 20 years practicing corporate and tax law. Mr. Parker is on the Board of directors of four NASDAQ companies and is currently the Chairman of the Audit Committee of all four of those companies. Mr. Parker is a Vietnam War Veteran (U.S. Navy), received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his J.D. and Master’s in Tax Law from Georgetown Law Center.
 
Secretary Susie Hudson
 
Susie Hudson was elected in January of 2015 as Secretary of the Republican National Committee.  Hudson is also the National Committeewoman from Vermont. She has served on the Technology Committee, Budget Committee, Executive Committee and served as the Recorder for the Rules Committee. She was also a former RNC staff member in the positions of Mid-West Legislative Political Director and Mid-West Regional Field Coordinator. She has attended six Republican National Conventions. Currently, Ms. Hudson is a board member of the Vermont Enhanced 9-1-1, the Vermont Commission on Women and is a member of the Vermont Republican Party Executive Committee. Previously, she served as the Chair of the Washington County Republican Committee, the Victory Chair of the Vermont Republican Party, Secretary and later Executive Director of the Vermont Republican Party, and Chair of the Vermont College Republicans. She was also a Justice of the Peace and a Trustee of Public Funds for the Town of East Montpelier.

West Des Moines, IA – Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey has added his name to the field of potential 2016 presidential candidates who will speak at the Iowa Agriculture Summit to be hosted March 7 by Iowa entrepreneur and philanthropist Bruce Rastetter.
 
Christie's acceptance raises the current total of prospective and likely candidates attending the summit to 10 following earlier commitments from former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Gov. George Pataki of New York, former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, New York businessman Donald Trump and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. The summit, which will also feature Governor Terry Branstad, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, will be held at the Elwell Family Food Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Des Moines.
 
Christie, a former U.S. attorney, was elected governor in 2009 and reelected in 2013. He also served as chairman of the Republican Governors Association from November 2013 through last year's mid-term elections in which the GOP gained two seats to hold the most governorships by one party since 1999.

"Governor Christie's recent appearances in Iowa, including his visit to West Des Moines tonight, have drawn tremendous interest in Iowa and around the country. I appreciate his decision to appear at the Iowa Agriculture Summit," Rastetter said. "Not only will it benefit Iowans to learn where prospective candidates stand on the issues that shape the agricultural economy but it will also benefit the candidates as they delve into those issues."

Each speaker at the summit will appear on stage alone with Rastetter for 20 minutes to answer questions about the broad range of issues facing American farmers and agribusinesses, including modern  agriculture practices, renewable fuels, biosciences, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), grain and livestock markets, land conservation, federal subsidies and other related topics.

On Thursday, February 12 from 11:00am-12:00 pm, Vice President Joe Biden will be speaking to the Drake University community in Sheslow Auditorium.

Doors will open for the event at 9:30 am and will close at 10:45 am. Attendees will need to go through airport-like security outside before entering the building.

Please read the ticketing process information carefully and be mindful of the security requirements for attendees.

All tickets are free and you must have a ticket to attend. All ticket-holders must show their Drake-authorized ID with their ticket in order to be admitted to the event.


Ticketing for Drake University students opens at 8:30 pm on Monday, February 9.

•Only students will be eligible for ticketing for the first 24 hours.

•Each student may request one ticket.

•Ticketing will remain open until Wednesday February 11 at 5:00pm.

•Students MUST request a ticket through this system.

•All attendees will go through airport-like security outside before entering the building. Attendees should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, brief cases, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids, or signs will be allowed in the venue. Small cameras are permitted (no extended lenses). Cell phones are permitted but must be on silent.

NICHE'S 8TH ANNUAL "HOMESCHOOL IOWA DAY AT THE CAPITOL" ON APRIL 9 TO INCLUDE AT LEAST FOUR POTENTIAL PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

DES MOINES, Iowa -- At least four potential and likely presidential candidates have confirmed their participation in the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators' eighth annual "Homeschool Day at the Capitol" on Thursday, April 9.

"We've invited a number of Christian conservatives to hear from Iowa's home educators about issues that concern us and share their vision for Iowa and our country," said NICHE President Justin Lavan.

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania have confirmed, Lavan said.

"We have the possibility that several others may attend, too," Lavan said. "This portion of the day's events will be hosted by national talk radio host Steve Deace."

The day will begin with morning activities at the Capitol. Families from across the state will meet with individual legislators and participate in other meetings. More than 1,000 attendees of all ages are expected. The group will reconvene at the Holiday Inn Airport in the afternoon to hear prospective candidates, a roundtable discussion featuring prominent Iowa home educators and a few brief presentations by others.

Formed in 1992, NICHE is Iowa’s only statewide homeschooling organization providing support and information to home educating families through a variety of events and resources, including an annual conference, a formal

graduation service, a quarterly magazine and bi-monthly member e-newsletter, legislative services and multi-faceted assistance to local homeschooling groups and individual families.

Former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, New York businessman Donald Trump and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker have also confirmed their participation in the bipartisan event being organized by Iowa entrepreneur and philanthropist Bruce Rastetter. The summit, which will also feature Governor Terry Branstad, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, will be held at the Elwell Family Food Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Des Moines.

Pataki served three terms as governor of the Empire State between 1995 and 2006. Since leaving the governorship, he has working in the renewable energy practice of a large New York law firm.
