Senator Santorum served on the Senate Armed Services Committee for 8 years, where he led the efforts responsible for transitioning our military from a Cold War fighting force to one prepared to fight the asymmetric threats we see today. Santorum was also the author of two major pieces of legislation imposing sanctions on the rogue regimes of Iran and Syria - both of which were initially opposed by then-Senator Biden and President Bush, but were both passed overwhelmingly and signed into law. After leaving the U.S. Senate, Santorum founded a program at the Ethics and Public Policy Center focused on drawing attention to the Radical Islamist threat we continue to see today.
