Senator Amy Klobuchar to Keynote 2014 Iowa Democratic Party Jefferson Jackson Dinner
Des Moines – The Iowa Democratic Party announced today that Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar will be the keynote speaker at the 2014 Jefferson Jackson Dinner.
“We are excited to announce that Senator Klobuchar has accepted our invitation to join us in Iowa for the 2014 Jefferson Jackson Dinner,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Scott Brennan. “Senator Klobuchar has been a tireless advocate for middle class families and rural communities and has worked to promote economic opportunity for all Americans. We invited Senator Klobuchar because she's a great speaker and a strong advocate for our candidates, and we’re pleased she’s joining us to support our Iowa Democrats at this year’s Jefferson Jackson Dinner.”
Throughout her career, Senator Klobuchar has focused on getting results that help support families, strengthen education, and promote economic opportunity for all Americans. As Senate Chair of the Joint Economic Committee, Senator Klobuchar has been a leading voice in calling for an innovation agenda for our country, and she has also fought to increase consumer protections as the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Antitrust Committee. A strong advocate for rural America and a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Senator Klobuchar helped craft the five-year Farm Bill which was signed into law earlier this year.
The Iowa Democratic Party Jefferson Jackson Dinner remains one of the top political events in the country. This year’s dinner will be held on October 25th at Hy Vee Hall.
