John Edwards For President Campaign Releases Iowa Specific Website

JOHN EDWARDS FOR PRESIDENT CAMPAIGN RELEASES IOWA SPECIFIC WEBSITE
www.JohnEdwards.com/Iowa gives voters direct link to campaign in their area

Des Moines, Iowa – The John Edwards for President campaign today released a website specifically for Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucus goers. The web site, www.JohnEdwards.com/Iowa, provides Iowans with information on how to get involved in the campaign as well as details on Edwards’ bold and specific plans on issues from Iraq to universal health care.  It also tracks John and Elizabeth Edwards travels throughout Iowa and it will include pictures and video of their discussions with everyday Iowans.

“Iowa is the first stop in our drive to change America – and success here is going to be critical,” said Edwards. “Elizabeth and I have had many opportunities to visit with Iowans over the past few years, but this web site will give Iowans the chance to learn more about my plans for bold change.  Most importantly, it is a tool that will help Iowans get involved in the important challenges facing our country today.”

The Iowa website -- which will be regularly updated -- includes:

  • News from the campaign trail
  • Pictures and video of John and Elizabeth Edwards as they visit with Iowans
  • Downloadable fact sheets and other items so that caucus goers can learn about Edwards’ positions on the issues – and then share that information with friends and neighbors
  • A six minute video detailing John Edwards plan for universal health coverage
  • Lists of upcoming events

Many ways to get involved, including registering as a supporter of the campaign, offering to volunteer, and an email feature allowing Iowans to invite friends and family to visit the site and learn more about the campaign
A page allowing caucus goers to get in contact with the nearest campaign office
Additional features and information will be added throughout the campaign, and Edwards invited Iowans – whether they are already supporters or still undecided -- to check back at the page frequently to hear the latest news from the campaign

Obama Campaign Announces New Iowa Website

Obama Campaign Announces New Iowa Website

DES MOINES – U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today announced that he has introduced an Iowa-specific campaign website to help Iowans stay informed and get involved in his campaign. Obama’s Iowa website can be viewed at www.barackobama.com/iowa and will include a calendar of events and activities, contact information for Obama’s 12 Iowa offices, a blog, videos and more.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for Iowans to stay informed and get involved in this campaign,” Obama said. “If we want to change the way our political system is run so that our voices – and not just the lobbyists and the special interest groups – are heard in Washington, then ordinary citizens need to join together and organize for change. My hope is that this website will provide another tool for Iowans across the state to do just that.”

Obama’s Iowa website further demonstrates his commitment to competing in Iowa and adds to his already impressive efforts to help ordinary citizens organize online. Currently, Iowans and Obama supporters across the country are using my.barackobama.com  to organize their friends and communities.

This past weekend, Senator Obama made his 6th visit to Iowa since announcing his candidacy for President in early February.

Mike Huckabee Opens New Campaign Headquarters And Launches New Website Design

Mike Huckabee Opens New Campaign Headquarters In Little Rock

Little Rock, AR -- Mike Huckabee announced today the opening of the Mike Huckabee Presidential Exploratory Committee headquarters in the One Union West Capitol Building at 124 W. Capitol St., Suite 1200, in downtown Little Rock. The office will serve as the home base for the logistics, fundraising and communications aspects of the campaign.

“I felt is was very important to locate campaign headquarters in the heart of downtown Little Rock because this is my home,” Huckabee said. “The values I’ve grown up with here in Arkansas have guided my political career. As we move around the country in this campaign, it’s nice to come back to the headquarters in Little Rock, where my heart is.”

Huckabee, who calls himself a "son of the South," served as governor of Arkansas from 1996-2007, and as lieutenant governor from 1993-96.

“It’s no secret the campaign for president can be exhausting and exciting at the same time,” Huckabee said. “This state is where I am invigorated and it's the source of much of my energy.”

Campaign Manager Chip Saltsman, who previously worked as senior political advisor for then-U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist’s volunteer political action committee, will work out of the office in Little Rock.

“One of the first big decisions Gov. Huckabee made after forming an exploratory committee is that he wanted the office to be based in Little Rock --not Washington, D.C.,” Saltsman said. “Right away I knew this was a campaign based on American values, not those of the Washington Beltway.”

John McCain Launches New 2008 Website

JOHN MCCAIN LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

JohnMcCain.Com A Departure From The Traditional Campaign Website

ARLINGTON, VA - U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential exploratory committee today released the campaign's new website, www.JohnMcCain.com, initiating an online dialogue and conversation with individual Americans about the stakes of the 2008 election and the issues important to them.

"These are serious times for America as our nation faces the ongoing threat of terrorism and the ongoing challenges of fiscal irresponsibility at home," said Terry Nelson, National Campaign Manager of John McCain 2008 - The Exploratory Committee. "This website conveys the undeniable fact that John McCain is singularly prepared to be President of the United States and face the challenges ahead."

Today's release is the base platform for the thousands of Team McCain online activists to become involved in John McCain 2008. On the site, individuals are empowered as key participants in Senator McCain's campaign to recruit other volunteers, raise money, and participate in a virtual town hall with Senator McCain. The site will continue to grow and evolve as Senator McCain makes a final decision about running for President.

"In 2000, John McCain harnessed the power of the internet in a way that was new and unique to campaigns," said Christian Ferry, National eCampaign Director. "This site continues to build on that experience, recognizing the importance of new media in today's political discourse and the power of technology to inform, involve, and connect individuals to a candidate and a campaign."

"This site is a departure from the traditional campaign website in both design and navigation," continued Ferry. "It is designed to engage users with a different visual experience on every page, giving them unique insight into the rich personal story of John McCain and his years of experience that differentiates him as ready to lead."

Tom Vilsack Unveils New Interactive Website

Vilsack Unveils New Interactive Website

Will Encourage Online Dialogue on Iraq War, Energy Security & Other Issues

DES MOINES, IA -- Today, at 4:00PM CST, the Tom Vilsack for President Campaign unveiled a re-designed website at www.TomVilsack08.com. The new interactive website features tools allowing Vilsack supporters and other members of the online community to participate in two-way conversations with Vilsack and the campaign regarding his plans to defund the war in Iraq, end America's dependence on foreign oil and create change in America.

"Our campaign is committed to engaging voters across America show share our vision for ending our dependence on foreign oil and getting our troops out of harm's way in Iraq immediately," said Vilsack. "We'll use our website and cutting edge technology to minimize the barriers of time and space to give our supporters unprecedented access to our campaign."

The website will empower the millions of Americans opposed to the Iraq war by providing a platform of tools to make their voices heard. The first dialogue on the website will encourage Americans to join a discussion of the bold energy-security goals Vilsack articulated in a major policy address yesterday to the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, California. Vilsack said: "We aren't just looking for support. We're looking for active participation. Our website is now equipped with the technology to give Americans the opportunity to share their ideas about how we achieve the ambitious energy security goals I've laid out."

The new website, www.TomVilsack08.com, includes improved vehicles for interacting with the campaign and other supporters:

A campaign blog with postings from Tom and Christie Vilsack, campaign staff and other supporters.
Tools to allow supporters to build the Vilsack campaign in their local communities by hosting 'Main Street Meetings.'

State-specific hubs, acting as virtual field offices, for online organizing in the early primary states.
The new-look for www.TomVilsack08.com continues the Vilsack campaign's record of innovating on the Internet. Vilsack was the first presidential candidate to engage supporters through social networking, the first to feature a campaign video blog and the first presidential candidate ever to announce on the Internet, a tactic that has been followed by many other Democratic candidates for President.

Tom Vilsack was the first Democratic candidate for President to announce his candidacy, the first to repudiate the Bush-McCain Doctrine of increasing troop levels in Iraq, and the first to demand that Congress stop funding the war in Iraq. Tom Vilsack is a Washington outsider with a proven track record of expanding access to healthcare and early education, as well as making Iowa a national leader in renewable fuel production.

New Barack Obama Website Launched

The new Barack Obama website was launched with this welcome message.

Welcome to the new BarackObama.com!
By Joe Rospars

Hi, my name is Joe Rospars. I'm the New Media Director here at Obama for America. As we build out the team, I'm also going to be blogging here about the campaign, the evolution of the web site, and anything else you want.

This is your campaign, and we're all here to serve you. Indeed, we're here early. I'm actually writing this on late Thursday night as we ready the new BarackObama.com. If you're reading this, it's probably a few days later after we've launched. I'm writing now because we're making the final tweaks on the initial set of tools and functionality that will hopefully help a lot of people like you hit the ground running and start this campaign off with the culture of self-organizing that Senator Obama wants to build.

Earlier tonight I was with Senator Obama taping a short video message that will go out to folks on Friday, reminding them to watch the live video stream of his announcement speech.

That speech will be when the action really starts here. It will kick off Saturday morning at 10:55 AM Eastern, 9:55 AM Central, when the live stream of the big announcement starts. Senator Obama will be live from Springfield, Illinois, where thousands have already RSVPed to brave sub-freezing temperatures to be part of history. You'll be able to pull up the live video from the front page of the new BarackObama.com.

Before we shot the video tonight, Senator Obama got his final look at the web site to give the thumbs-up. As we put together the final pieces of the puzzle that is launching a new grassroots-driven web site, I can only say that I hope you're as excited as he was about the opportunities you have here to take this campaign into your own hands.

This site -- and this campaign in general -- will always be a work in progress. We're going to experiment, we're going to try new things. Sometimes it will inevitably be a little rough around the edges, for sure, but that's the risk we're going to have to take if we're going to run this campaign in a new way.
