RNC Response To Democrat Debate

RNC RESPONSE TO DEMOCRAT DEBATE

WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight:

“Both Democrat candidates showed voters why they should not be Commander in Chief in a time of war and economic uncertainty.  Barack Obama’s inexperience was demonstrated by his admission that he failed to convene one Foreign Relations subcommittee hearing and his contradictory stances on NAFTA.  Senator Clinton’s credibility hit an all-time low as she advocated a government-run health care plan and then refused to explain how she would pay for or enforce it.  After tonight’s debate in Cleveland, I am more confident than ever that a Republican will prevail this fall.”

RNC Response To Democrat Debate

RNC RESPONSE TO DEMOCRAT DEBATE

WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight:

“I’ve never been more certain that both Democrat candidates are truly flawed. Barack Obama displayed tonight his naïve grasp of foreign relations – both current and historical. Obama also misled voters, claiming he disclosed all of his earmarks. His thin record and lack of experience exemplify why he is not fit to be Commander in Chief. Senator Clinton showed viewers tonight that she cannot be trusted and will continue to pander her way toward her party’s nomination.  Neither Democrat candidate demonstrated tonight that they are prepared to lead on the issues that matter to all Americans.”

RNC Chairman's Response to President Bush's State Of The Union Address

RNC CHAIRMAN’S RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT BUSH’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight:

“President George W. Bush spoke about the importance of trust in America and her people.  He called on Congress to trust the American people to wisely spend more of their own money. With the current economic challenges, it is important that we reject the Democrats’ calls to raise taxes on hard-working people. Instead, we should empower Americans with tax relief that puts more money in their pockets and trusts them to spend it wisely.

“Congress must also empower our intelligence community to protect the American people. Unfortunately, the votes of Senators Clinton and Obama against giving our intelligence community the tools it needs to effectively prosecute the War on Terror directly undermines Americans’ safety.

“Tonight’s State of the Union was given in the midst of a primary season where Republicans stand united behind a pro-growth, pro-democracy agenda. I am more confident than ever a Republican President will deliver next year’s State of the Union address, and that he will echo the optimistic, hopeful and empowering messages we heard tonight.”

“The new GOP.com is an easier, more attractive way for us to spread our message,” RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan said.  “It’s a way for our supporters to get more involved.  Now our voters can use cutting edge technology to communicate with us and each other, and to help develop and spread the Republican message themselves.”

Statement By RNC Chairman On Democratic Debate

STATEMENT BY RNC CHAIRMAN ON DEMOCRAT DEBATE

WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement regarding the Democrat presidential debate in New Hampshire:

“Tonight, we once again saw the true face of the Democrat Party, as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, and all the rest stuck to their plans to raise taxes, increase the size of government, and retreat from the War on Terror.  What we didn’t see onstage tonight were the leaders of the radical, blame-America-first groups like MoveOn.org, who only have to say ‘jump’ in order to have the Democrat candidates and leadership eagerly ask, ‘how high?’”

STATEMENT BY RNC CHAIRMAN MIKE DUNCAN ON THE SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

STATEMENT BY RNC CHAIRMAN MIKE DUNCAN ON THE SIXTH ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

WASHINGTON – RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement today commemorating the sixth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:

“Six years ago, terrorists attacked the United States of America.  The searing memories will never fade for most Americans, and for the families and friends of those we lost, neither will the sorrow. We should never forget the tremendous bravery we saw that day, or the outpouring of kindness and generosity from every state, every county, and every city in the days and weeks that followed.

“Today, thousands of our brave young men and women are still fighting to keep our enemies from striking us again.  Our thanks go out to them, and to everyone who is working to make sure we never see another 9/11.”

RNC Statement On New Hampshire Democrat Presidential Debate

RNC Statement on New Hampshire Democrat Presidential Debate

WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement after tonight's Democrat Presidential debate in New Hampshire:

“Today, we saw the remarkable spectacle of Democrat candidates for President who want to raise our taxes, but don’t want to fund our troops in Iraq – even though some of them said they would as recently as a month ago.  This is not a platform that will win the Democrats many votes outside of Michael Moore fans, MoveOn.org members and Daily Kos readers.  We will see something far more positive and far more encouraging when our Republican candidates gather for their third debate on Tuesday.”
