RNC CHAIRMAN DUNCAN RESPONDS TO FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

RNC CHAIRMAN DUNCAN RESPONDS TO FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight.

“In the final debate tonight between Barack Obama and John McCain, the difference between the two presidential candidates was clearly drawn.  Sen. McCain has the experience and leadership to guide our country in a positive new direction.

“Sen. McCain gave Americans specifics on how he will work to increase jobs, establish energy independence, and lower health care costs, while Barack Obama showed he was unable to give Americans the straight talk and straight answers they deserve.  For every hardworking family who strives to achieve the American Dream, they must now decide whether to elect a candidate who rewards their hard work or a candidate who punishes them with tax hikes and stands behind ‘spread[ing] the wealth around.’”

RNC CHAIRMAN DUNCAN RESPONDS TO PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight.

“John McCain demonstrated tonight his commitment and decisiveness to change the way business is done in Washington, D.C.  He has shown he can provide solutions to the real issues hardworking American families are dealing with.  While Barack Obama postured for political expedience and contradicted his record, John McCain showed true leadership and initiative.  The decision for voters was made easier tonight.  Barack Obama’s naïveté on foreign policy and his record of supporting tax increases and government spending as opposed to John McCain’s leadership and clarity on the issues will resonate in voters’ minds.”

RNC CHAIRMAN DUNCAN RESPONDS TO VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

RNC CHAIRMAN DUNCAN RESPONDS TO VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight.

“Gov. Sarah Palin showed Americans tonight she has the leadership, drive, and passion for reform to move our country forward alongside John McCain.  Going up against Joe Biden, one of the Senate’s most experienced debaters, Palin clearly demonstrated she has what it takes to be our country’s next vice president.  She brought to light Barack Obama’s tax-raising and surge-opposing record, putting Biden on defense on nearly every issue brought forth tonight.  America’s confidence in Gov. Palin is growing ever stronger; she clearly is an advocate for the hardworking families that comprise our great country.  The true spirit of change lies in the McCain-Palin ticket and it rang powerfully tonight.”

RNC Chairman Duncan Responds To First Presidential Debate

RNC CHAIRMAN DUNCAN RESPONDS TO FIRST PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement tonight.

“The first presidential debate sent Americans a clear message: John McCain is by far the most qualified and prepared candidate to lead our country as Commander in Chief.  With thorough and direct responses, McCain’s leadership was evident as he controlled the dialogue, speaking from his wealth of experience on issues he has focused on during his entire career.  I’m confident voters will come away from this debate with a clear idea of who is ready to be the next president, and I’m confident they saw those qualifications and sound judgment in one person, Senator John McCain.”

RNC STATEMENT ON EDWARDS’ ENDORSEMENT OF OBAMA

RNC STATEMENT ON EDWARDS’ ENDORSEMENT OF OBAMA

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan released the following statement today:

“Barack Obama and John Edwards share an out-of-touch agenda that would raise taxes on families while cutting funding for our troops.  The only question is why didn’t Edwards endorse sooner?  Edwards’ endorsement of a candidate he previously blasted as inexperienced, hypocritical, and lacking substance will not help Obama with voters looking for real change.”

Americans Demonstrate Outpouring Of Support For John McCain's Candidacy

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan today announced that the RNC will report over $31 million cash-on-hand through the end of March 2008 in its upcoming filing with the Federal Election Commission.

“The RNC is very fortunate to enjoy the support of hundreds of thousands of donors, in addition to the fact that the President has invested time and energy to ensure Republican candidates have the necessary resources to communicate our message and mobilize the vote this fall,” said Duncan.

While the RNC will report $31 million cash-on-hand with no debt, the DNC reported that it had over $4 million cash-on-hand with $250,000 in debt at the end of February.  In total, the RNC has raised over $36 million during the first three months of 2008.

“It’s clear that John McCain is the only candidate in this race with the experience, character, and vision to move our nation forward,” Duncan continued. “As we prepare for November, we are encouraged by the dedication and outpouring of support from so many who want to ensure that Senator McCain and Republican candidates are elected this fall.”

RNC CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS TO TEAM

RNC CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS TO TEAM

WASHINGTON – Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan today announced the addition of Carly Fiorina, Lew Eisenberg, Frank Donatelli, and Michael DuHaime to the RNC team.  Fiorina will serve as the Victory Chairman, Eisenberg as the Victory Finance Chairman, Donatelli as RNC Deputy Chairman, and DuHaime as Senior Advisor for Political Operations.

“I am excited to announce the addition of these highly qualified and talented individuals and welcome them to the RNC team.  Carly Fiorina, Lew Eisenberg, Frank Donatelli, and Mike DuHaime will play a vital role in our efforts as we move forward to elect Senator John McCain as the next President of the United States and in our efforts to regain the majorities in the House and Senate,” Chairman Duncan said.

Carly Fiorina will serve as the Victory Chairman.  Fiorina is a remarkable American success story and one of the nation’s great business leaders.  Her business experience will be vital to Senator McCain and the RNC as we travel the country talking about the Senator’s plans to create jobs for working families and set the conditions for economic growth.

“I look forward to having a dialogue with the American people about why John McCain will be a great President and why the Republican Party has the best ideas on how to keep our country safe, prosperous, and strong,” Fiorina said.

Fiorina has been active in politics, working with President Bush, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Members of Congress on technology issues.  She has advised the Departments of Defense and State, USAID, and the CIA.  As a sought-after speaker, she has spoken with hundreds of thousands of people all around the country.

“Carly Fiorina is a great asset to our Victory program,” RNC Co-Chairman Jo Ann Davidson said.  “Her experience in business and government give her incredible insight into the economy and we are fortunate to have her as part of the team, especially in this critical election year.”

Lew Eisenberg will serve as the Victory Finance Chairman.  Eisenberg is a former partner at Goldman Sachs and co-founder of Granite Capital International Group.  Mr. Eisenberg also served from 1995 to January of 2002 as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.  Eisenberg previously served as RNC Finance Chairman and Co-Chair to the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York.

“I am eager to return to the RNC in this new capacity as we continue to raise the resources that our Party will need to elect John McCain as President as well as Republicans nationwide,” said Eisenberg.

Frank Donatelli will assume the role of RNC Deputy Chairman.  Donatelli served under Ronald Reagan as Assistant to the President for Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, as well as Deputy Assistant to the President for Public Liaison.  Donatelli has advised numerous GOP presidential candidates, including Bob Dole and George W. Bush.  Donatelli also served then-White House Chief of Staff James Baker and worked on Baker’s campaign for Texas Attorney General.

“I am excited to be part of the team here at the RNC that will help elect John McCain as our next President.  The RNC has a vital role to play in the upcoming campaign and we will devote all available resources, financial, political and volunteer, to bringing Senator McCain’s message of smaller government, low taxes, and protection of our nation against all enemies to the American people,” Donatelli said.

Mike DuHaime will join the RNC as Senior Advisor for Political Operations.  DuHaime returns to the RNC after managing Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign.  A New Jersey native, DuHaime previously served the RNC as Political Director.

“I look forward to rejoining the team at the RNC in order to build on the great work that’s taking place, and boost our organization and resources in order to elect Senator McCain and Republican candidates across America this November,” said DuHaime.
