Edwards Campaign Unveils Iowa TV Ad Featuring Elizabeth Edwards

Edwards Campaign Unveils Iowa TV Ad Featuring Elizabeth Edwards

Des Moines, Iowa – The John Edwards for President campaign today unveiled a new Iowa TV ad featuring Elizabeth Edwards.  The ad, entitled "30 Years," features Elizabeth Edwards, the person who knows John Edwards best, discussing her husband's strength and character

"30 Years" will run statewide and builds on John Edwards’ growing momentum in Iowa, including a strong performance in the Des Moines Register debate and the endorsements of Congressman Bruce Braley and Iowa First Lady Mari Culver.  Edwards also announced an eight-day, “America Rising: Fighting for the Middle Class” bus tour of Iowa that begins tomorrow and continues through the January 3rd Caucuses.

Full Script of "30 Years":

“I have been blessed for the last 30 years to be married to the most optimistic person that I have ever met.  But at the same time he has an unbelievable toughness -- particularly about other people and that is his ability to fight for them.

“You're not going to out smart him.  He works harder than any human being that I know, always has.  It's unbelievably important that in our president we have someone who can stare the worst in the face and not blink.

Edwards Campaign Unveils New "Power" Television Ad In New Hampshire

EDWARDS CAMPAIGN UNVEILS NEW “POWER” TELEVISION AD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

Returns for 23rd trip to the Granite State, delivers remarks on importance of Democrats, Republicans and Independents working together to fix the broken system in Washington

Manchester, New Hampshire – Today, as Senator John Edwards returned to New Hampshire for his 23rd trip to the state, the campaign unveiled a new television ad in the state called “Power.” In the ad – the eighth to run in New Hampshire since this summer – Edwards says he will “stand up for people whose voices are ignored” and “work every day to restore the American Dream.”

Today in New Hampshire , Edwards discussed the importance of individuals from all parties rising up to fix the broken system in Washington. “If there is one thing Republican, Independent and Democratic voters can agree on it’s that the system in Washington is broken and that corporate greed has gotten its way at the expense of the middle class and American jobs,” Edwards said. “My campaign is a call across party lines to rise up together and say enough is enough.”

The ad goes up as Edwards returns to the state today for door knocking in Nashua, town hall events in Conway and Laconia, and organizing conventions in Manchester and Salem. Organizing conventions are a tool the campaign uses to energize volunteers and turn them out to canvass and phone bank on behalf of John Edwards.

In anticipation of our GOTV effort, the Edwards campaign has opened five new field offices around the state to accommodate the overwhelming number of volunteers turning out to work for the campaign. Last week alone, volunteers for the Edwards campaign made 75,000 phone calls to their friends and neighbors in New Hampshire to talk about John Edwards’ bold plans to bring about real change in our country. That’s the strongest volunteer call week the Edwards campaign has had yet this cycle and our operation only continues to grow. The campaign also identified more supporters last week than any prior week during the cycle.

A full transcript of “Power” and excerpts from Edwards’ remarks are included below.

Full Transcript of “Power:”

What will our next president do with the enormous power that comes with the office?

I will restore America’s moral authority in the world, confront people who exploit their power for personal advantage, stand up for people whose voices are ignored – just like

I’ve done all my life – be honest about the challenges we face and the choices we have, keep the promises I make, work every day to restore the American Dream.

Because I know that the power that comes with the presidency comes from you.

I’m John Edwards, and I approved this message.

New TV Ad “Enough” Highlights Obama’s Commitment To American Workers

Obama Vows to Protect Workers from Unfair Trade Deals
New TV Ad “Enough” Highlights Obama’s Commitment to American Workers

INDIANOLA – U.S. Senator Barack Obama today discussed his commitment to fight for fair trade for America’s workers, reject trade agreements that weren’t in American workers’ best interest, and enforce the agreements we do have.  The Obama Campaign also released a new television ad, Enough, in which Obama vows to end tax breaks for companies moving jobs overseas and reward companies that invest in America.  To view “Enough”, click HERE.

The Bush Administration has done little to protect Americans whose livelihoods are being threatened by globalization and changes in technology.  By failing to enforce U.S. trade agreements, overseas companies and workers have been given an unfair and sometimes illegal advantage over American workers.

“American workers deserve better. When I’m President, we’ll make sure our trading partners live up to their agreements,” Obama said.   “We’ll have a trade representative who’s actually representing American workers. And we’ll do more to stop countries like China from acting unfairly when it comes to trade – because no country should get a free pass if they’re bending the rules.”

Obama will make enforcement the top priority of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Office, and he will increase resources for the USTR so it can carry out its responsibility to protect American interests.  As President, Obama will only negotiate trade agreements that benefit American workers and have strong and enforceable labor and environmental standards in the body of the agreement.  In addition, Obama will help workers hurt by the effects of globalization get back on their feet by strengthening training programs and providing assistance for health care costs.

“When I’m President, we’ll give you training before you lose your job if there’s a good chance it will get shipped overseas,” Obama said.  “We’ll give you an education account that you can use to retrain. We’ll help ensure that losing your job doesn’t also mean losing your health care by giving you some extra money to pay for it. And we’ll make sure employers give you an additional month’s notice before letting you go – so you have 90 days’ notice, instead of just 60.  We’re not going to be able to stop globalization in its tracks, but what we can do is have a President who’s standing up for American farmers and workers. That’s why I’m running for President.”

Romney For President Launches New Television Ad, "It's Personal To Me"

ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD, "IT'S PERSONAL TO ME"

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President launched its newest television ad, "It's Personal To Me."  In the ad, Governor Romney talks about his agenda to strengthen Michigan.  Born and raised in Michigan, Governor Romney is proud of his roots in the state and believes it is "inexcusable that Michigan is undergoing a one-state recession."  To strengthen the economy, Governor Romney believes we must, in part, invest in technology, open markets and keep taxes down.  After a successful private sector career, Governor Romney is the only candidate who understands the business world and how the economy works.
The ad will begin airing today as part of the campaign's rotation in Michigan.

Script For "It's Personal To Me" (TV:30):

GOVEROR MITT ROMNEY: "And for me, Michigan is personal.

"It's inexcusable that Michigan is undergoing a one-state recession.

"High levels of unemployment, industry is shrinking here, jobs are going away.

"We're going to invest in technology and research to make sure that American goods are pushing into other markets.

"We're also going to have to do a better job keeping our taxes down.

"I think I'm probably the only guy on this stage who spent most of his career in the business world.

"I understand how the economy works.

"There's a lot we can do to strengthen Michigan.

"I'm Mitt Romney and I approved this message."

John McCain 2008 Launches New Television Ad: "My Christmas Story"

JOHN MCCAIN 2008 LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD: "MY CHRISTMAS STORY"

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- At press conferences in Manchester and Columbia today, U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign released a new television ad to run in New Hampshire and South Carolina. The ad, entitled "My Christmas Story," tells the story of the most transcendent and uplifting experience of John McCain's imprisonment.
"This ad tells the inspiring story of John McCain, whose spirit was lifted by the compassion of a Good Samaritan during one of his darkest hours, revealing the true light of Christmas and the holiday season," said Sergeant Major Paul Chevalier (Ret.), Chair of the New Hampshire Veterans for McCain Coalition. "It's a powerful reminder that regardless of how difficult the circumstance, simple acts of compassion can bring hope to us all."

VIEW THE NEW AD HERE: https://www.johnmccain.com/mychristmasstory

Script for "My Christmas Story" (:30-TV)

JOHN MCCAIN: "One night, after being mistreated as a POW, a guard loosened the ropes binding me, easing my pain.

"On Christmas, that same guard approached me, and without saying a word, he drew a cross in the sand.

"We stood wordlessly looking at the cross, remembering the true light of Christmas.

"I will never forget that no matter where you are, no matter how difficult the circumstances, there will always be someone who will pick you up.

"May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays.

"I'm John McCain and I approve this message."

JOHN MCCAIN: MY CHRISTMAS STORY

As a POW, my captors would tie my arms behind my back and then loop the rope around my neck and ankles so that my head was pulled down between my knees. I was often left like that throughout the night.

One night a guard came into my cell. He put his finger to his lips signaling for me to be quiet, and then loosened my ropes to relieve my pain. The next morning, when his shift ended, the guard returned and retightened the ropes, never saying a word to me.

A month or so later, on Christmas Day, I was standing in the dirt courtyard when I saw that same guard approach me. He walked up and stood silently next to me, not looking or smiling at me. After a few moments had passed, he rather nonchalantly used his sandaled foot to draw a cross in the dirt. We stood wordlessly looking at the cross, remembering the true light of Christmas, even in the darkness of a Vietnamese prison camp. After a minute or two, he rubbed it out and walked away.

That guard was my Good Samaritan. I will never forget that man and I will never forget that moment. And I will never forget that, no matter where you are, no matter how difficult the circumstances, there will always be someone who will pick you up and carry you.

May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and Happy Holidays.

New Dodd Ad "Together" Draws Contrast On Experience, Ability To Produce Results

DODD CAMPAIGN RELEASES NEW AD DRAWING CONTRAST ON EXPEREINCE, ABILITY TO PRODUCE RESULTS
Statewide buy to begin today

WASHINGTON, DC - The Dodd for President Campaign today released its eighth television ad, entitled "Together," pointing to Sen. Dodd's proven experience bringing people together to produce results for the American people. Drawing a clear distinction between he and his opponents, Sen. Dodd asks "Some people may say I have too much experience to run for President, but the more you hear my opponents, the more you wonder if they have enough."

The ad, which will play statewide on network and cable beginning today, also highlights Sen. Dodd's ability to bring Democrats and Republicans together on crucial issues such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, his electability, and more importantly, his readiness to be President.

The script for "Together" is below

[Dodd:]

Some people say that I have too much experience to run for President.

But the more you hear my opponents, the more you wonder whether they have enough.

I've spent my life bringing Democrats and Republicans together to create real change.

I know I can win the general election and I am ready to be President.

I'm Chris Dodd, I'd appreciate your support on caucus night.

I approved this message because it's time America had a President with the experience to lead.

Biden Campaign Announces New Television Ad, “January Night”

BIDEN CAMPAIGN ASKS IOWANS TO CHOOSE A PRESIDENT

Des Moines, IA (December 20, 2007) – The Biden for President Campaign announced the launch of its new television ad, “January Night,” which will begin airing across Iowa today. The 30-second spot highlights the uniqueness of the Iowa caucuses and their long tradition of advancing candidates based on integrity, experience, and proven leadership.  Emphasizing that the Iowa caucuses represent an opportunity to alter our nation’s trajectory in the face of significant challenges both at home and abroad and that Joe Biden is the only candidate ready to lead from Day One, the ad asks caucus-goers to do more than choose a candidate—“choose a president.”

“In many ways Iowa is the only level playing field left in presidential politics,” said Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro. “Iowans have a proud history of bucking punditry and conjecture, and choosing a candidate based on the authenticity of their experience and strength of their character. Our campaign grows more confident with each passing day that this tradition will lead Iowans to choose Joe Biden on January 3rd.”
