Romney For President Launches New Television Ad, "Ready"

ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD, "READY"

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President launched its newest television ad, "Ready."  The ad highlights the very important choice voters will have to make when it comes to electing a candidate ready to make tough decisions.  In Arkansas, Governor Mike Huckabee increased state spending, backed in-state tuition benefits for illegal immigrants and granted over 1,000 pardons and commutations.  Governor Huckabee's attacks on the Bush administration's foreign policy have been called "ludicrous."  In Massachusetts, Governor Romney took a different course.  He held spending down and granted zero pardons.  There is a clear difference in leadership.

The ad will begin airing today as part of the campaign's rotation in Iowa.

Script For "Ready" (TV:30):

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY:  "I'm Mitt Romney and I approved this message."

ANNOUNCER:  "Two good men.

"But who is ready to make tough decisions?

"Mike Huckabee?  Soft on government spending.  He grew a $6 billion government into a $16 billion government.

"Backed in-state tuition benefits for illegals, and granted 1,033 pardons and commutations, including 12 murderers.

"His foreign policy?  'Ludicrous,' says Condoleezza Rice.

"Mitt Romney held spending down below inflation.  Cut taxes.  Zero pardons.

"The difference? Strong leadership."

Edwards Campaign Unveils Two New Television Ads In New Hampshire And South Carolina

EDWARDS CAMPAIGN UNVEILS TWO NEW TELEVISION ADS IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND SOUTH CAROLINA

In new spots, Edwards says that saving the middle class will be an epic battle and America needs a president who is ready to fight

Chapel Hill, North Carolina – Today, the John Edwards for President campaign began airing two new 30-second television spots in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

In “Born For,” which is airing in New Hampshire, Edwards tells voters that standing up to powerful interests on behalf of the middle class is the fight he was born for. In “Native Son” Edwards reminds South Carolina voters he was born in their state and his parents and grandparents worked in the mills there to provide him a better life.

Included below are full transcripts of both ads, as well as links to watch or download high resolution versions of the spots.

“Born For” – New Hampshire (30 seconds):

Full Transcript:

I’m John Edwards and I approve this message.

For 25 years, corporate greed has gotten its way in Washington

Destroying American jobs and the middle class -

While the establishment did nothing.

Insurance lobbyists killed health care.

Energy giants make billions from insane gas prices.

And more jobs were lost.

As much as we like to think so, good intentions won’t change a thing.

Corporate greed won’t be stopped without a president who fights for you.

Saving the middle class will be an epic battle,

And that’s a fight I was born for.

“Native Son” – South Carolina (30 seconds):

Full Transcript:

I was born here in South Carolina.

My parents and grandparents worked in the mills here.

Like yours, they did it to give us a better life.

I was the first in my family to go to college.

And I spent my life fighting for middle class families hurt by powerful interests.

Big corporations control Washington now.

They’re not going to give up without a fight.

Saving the middle class is going to be an epic battle.

It’s a fight I was born for.

I’m John Edwards.

I approve this message and I will never forget where I came from.

Romney For President Launches New Television Ad, "Future"

ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD, "FUTURE"

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President launched its newest television ad, "Future."  The ad highlights the choice Republicans will have to make when it comes to strengthening our country.  Senator McCain opposed strengthening our economy through lower taxes.  He has pushed legislation allowing every illegal immigrant to stay in the United States.  Governor Romney took a different course.  He cut taxes and spending in Massachusetts.  He has consistently opposed amnesty for illegal immigrants.  On election day, Republicans will have a choice between two very different records and visions for our future.

The ad will begin airing today as part of the campaign's rotation in New Hampshire.

Script For "Future" (TV:30):

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY: "I'm Mitt Romney and I approved this message."

"McCain pushed to let every illegal immigrant stay here permanently.

"Even voted to allow illegals to collect Social Security.

"And Mitt Romney?  Mitt Romney cut taxes and spending as Governor.

"He opposes amnesty for illegals.

Edwards Campaign Launches Two New Ads in Iowa, “Choice” And “Time for Truth”

EDWARDS LAUNCHES EIGHT-DAY, 38-COUNTY “AMERICA RISING: FIGHTING FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS” BUS TOUR
In the Final Push Before the Caucuses, Edwards Will Meet with Thousands of Caucus Goers to Discuss His Fight for an America that Works for Middle Class Families; Campaign Launches Two New Ads in Iowa

Des Moines, Iowa – Today, Senator John Edwards is launching an eight-day “America Rising: Fighting for the Middle Class” bus tour across Iowa to meet with caucus goers and share with them his plans to stand up to powerful interests and make sure hard-working middle class families can get ahead.  During the final days leading up to the caucuses, Edwards will visit 38 counties and meet with thousands of caucus goers to discuss his vision of an America  where every person can work hard and build a better life for their family.

“Corporate greed and influence in Washington are stealing our children’s future,” said Edwards. “We will never change this country unless we’re willing to take on these powerful interests. I believe that on the night of January 3rd, Iowans are going to say enough is enough. There’s going to be a rising that begins right here in Iowa, and it’s going to spread across America, and it will be a wave of change that cannot be stopped.  Together, we will stand up to these powerful interests, take back our country and make sure we leave our children a better world.”

Edwards comes from a working class family and has spent his life standing up to powerful interests and fighting for regular Americans like the ones he grew up with.  As President, he will continue to stand up to these interests and bring change to America.  He believes every time we fight for jobs, families, the middle class, universal health care, and an end to poverty, America rises.

Edwards heads into the final days before the caucuses with growing momentum: Polls show him surging; he was recently endorsed by Iowa First Lady Mari Culver and Congressman Bruce Braley; he had a stand-out performance at The Des Moines Register debate; and more and more caucus goers are signing up to support him on January 3rd. Today, Edwards is holding a “Main Street Meet & Greet” in Waukon, “Countdown to Caucus” events in Decorah and Waverly, and an “America Rising” rally in Waterloo.

As part of the final push before the caucuses, today the campaign also unveiled two new 30-second television ads that will begin airing today in Iowa - “Choice” and “Time for Truth.”

Full Transcript of “Choice” (30 seconds):
I’m John Edwards and I approve this message
Here’s the choice:
Keep going the way we are,
Pretend the system works while corporate greed rules,
Insurance lobbyists kill health care,
Energy giant make billions from insane gas prices,
And the middle class is squeezed to the breaking point.
Or tell the truth – the status quo and good intentions aren’t enough
We’re not going to look our kids in the eye and say corporate greed stole your future.
We’re going to say America rose up, saved the middle class, gave you a better life,
And it started right here in Iowa.

Full Transcript of “Time for Truth” (30 seconds):
It’s time to tell the truth.
These big corporations and their greed,
They are stealing your children’s future.
We will never change this country
Unless we’re willing to take those people on.
I believe that on the night of January 3rd,
You’re going to say enough is enough.
There’s going to be a rising that begins right here in Iowa
And it’s going to spread across America
And it will be a wave of change that cannot be stopped.
I’m John Edwards and I approve this message.

In New Ad, Richardson Continues to Stake Out Differences on Iraq

In New Ad, Richardson Continues to Stake Out Differences on Iraq

SANTA FE, NM-- The Richardson for President campaign today is unveiling a new ad on Iraq in Iowa entitled "A Way Out." The ad continues to distinguish New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson from the rest of the Presidential field on the Iraq war, both in regard to his experience and plan moving forward.

"This ad continues to sharpen Governor Richardson's argument on Iraq as we move into the final week before the Iowa caucuses," campaign manager Dave Contarino said. "Bill Richardson is the only major candidate who will get all of our troops out of Iraq. He is the only candidate who has negotiated successfully with leaders in the Middle East. Simply put, Bill Richardson is the most seasoned leader with the boldest plan on Iraq.

"Other candidates now are trying to change their position on the Iraq war. Senator Hillary Clinton recently said that we could get all of our troops out within a year after claiming for months that it was not possible. Bill Richardson has been right on Iraq from the start of this race. He is ready to bring our troops home and end this war."

Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and John Edwards have been asked to pledge to pull all of our troops out of Iraq by 2013. They have not done so. Bill Richardson has made that pledge.

In addition, Clinton, Obama, and Edwards have suggested that we should pull out all of our combat troops and leave tens of thousands of non-combat troops behind in Iraq. Removing our combat troops first is a reckless strategy that will undermine unit cohesion and result in an extremely dangerous situation for our remaining brave men and women. This course of action is irresponsible. A rapid and coordinated withdrawal of all American troops is the smartest path toward a political reconciliation in Iraq.

The ad, which is running statewide in Iowa, was produced by Steve Murphy and Mark Putnam of Murphy Putnam Media.

Rudy Giuliani Campaign Launches National Television Ad, "Freedom"

Rudy Giuliani Campaign Launches National Television Ad
“Freedom” To Also Air In Florida and New Hampshire

New York City - The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee today announced the launch of a new television ad, entitled “Freedom.”  The ad will begin airing nationally on FOX News and in Florida and New Hampshire on Friday.

Script for “Freedom”:

MAYOR GIULIANI: “Right before September 11 and months before I had read this book about the greatest generation written by Tom Brokaw.

And the book explains how brave, and how persistent, and how courageous the people were in the generation that won the second world war.

And during the day of September 11 living through the things that I saw and observed.

Immediately, when I saw people helping each other.

I saw the picture of the firefighters putting the flag up at ground zero.

I said these are the children or grandchildren or great-grandchildren of the greatest generation.

They have the same resolve. The same understanding.

When you challenge Americans, there’s no country that stands up stronger and better than the United States of America.

When you try and take something away from us like freedom, my goodness, Americans are going to be one in resisting you.

So, the Islamic terrorists would make a terrible mistake if they confuse our democracy for weakness.

Our democracy means we disagree with each other, but when you come and try and take away from us our freedom.

When you try and come here and kill our people.

We’re one and we’re going to stand up to you and we’re going to prevail.

I’m Rudy Giuliani and I approved this message.”
