John Edwards For President Unveils New Television Ad, "Rigged"

AS CAMPAIGN MOMENTUM GROWS, JOHN EDWARDS FOR PRESIDENT UNVEILS NEW TELEVISION AD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE ENTITLED ‘RIGGED’
Second ad released during “Building a Better America Week”

Manchester, New Hampshire – Today, on day three of “Building a Better America Week,” the John Edwards for President campaign unveiled its second New Hampshire television ad of the week, entitled “Rigged.”  The ad features John Edwards speaking directly to New Hampshire voters about how the system in Washington is corrupt and rigged against hardworking Americans on behalf of the moneyed corporate interests.

“John Edwards has spent his entire life fighting for hardworking Americans against big corporate interests,” said New Hampshire state director Beth Leonard.  “He knows that replacing a group of corporate Republicans with a group of corporate Democrats is not going to bring about the bold change we so desperately need.”

"Rigged" is the fifth ad to air in New Hampshire since the summer.  "Rigged" and "Together" will both air on broadcast and cable across the state.

Below is a full transcript of the ad:

"RIGGED:” 30

This system is corrupt. And it's rigged. And it's rigged against you.

ANN: Finally, someone telling the truth.

And we can say as long as we get Democrats in, everything's gonna be ok. It's a lie. It is not the truth.

Do you really believe if we replace a crowd of corporate Republicans with a crowd of corporate Democrats that anything meaningful's gonna change?

This has to stop. It's that simple.

I’m John Edwards, and I approved this message.

Rudy Giuliani Campaign Launches New Television Ad, "One Hour"

Rudy Giuliani Campaign Launches New Television Ad in New Hampshire

New York City - The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee today announced the launch of a new television ad, entitled “One Hour.”  The ad is airing in New Hampshire and Boston.

Script for “One Hour”:

MAYOR GIULIANI: “I remember back to the 1970s and the early 1980s. Iranian mullahs took American hostages and they held the American hostages for 444 days. And they released the American hostages in one hour, and that should tell us a lot about these Islamic terrorists that we’re facing. The one hour in which they released them was the one hour in which Ronald Reagan was taking the Oath of Office as President of the United States. The best way you deal with dictators, the best way you deal with tyrants and terrorists, you stand up to them. You don’t back down. I’m Rudy Giuliani and I approve this message.”

Biden Qualifies For Matching Funds

BIDEN QUALIFIES FOR MATCHING FUNDS

Des Moines, IA (December 4, 2007) – Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro issued the following statement:

“Today, the FEC indicated that Sen. Biden has become eligible for federal matching funds.

“Voters in early states don’t believe this race is just about money or celebrity status, but about experience and ideas.  The winner in Iowa and other early states will be determined by real grassroots enthusiasm for the candidates and their ideas.  Today’s qualification ensures we will have the resources necessary to compete vigorously and support that grassroots effort.”

Iowa State Senator Joe Bolkcom Endorses Obama

State Senator Joe Bolkcom Endorses Obama

DES MOINES – In advance of Senator Obama’s trip to Iowa City today, the Obama Campaign announced the endorsement of local State Senator Joe Bolkcom.  Bolkcom cited Obama’s work as a community organizer in Chicago and experience bringing people together to create fundamental change.

“Barack Obama knows that real change happens from the bottom up, not the top down,” Senator Bolkcom said.  “He passed up lucrative job opportunities on Wall Street and prestigious clerkships in Washington to go back to the South Side of Chicago and become a civil rights lawyer.  While there, he organized communities and registered voters in order to spark lasting change.  Obama’s community organizing roots and commitment to working across party, class, and racial divides to get things done make me confident he’s the best candidate to bring our country together and change Washington, D.C.”

“Our campaign is proud to have Senator Bolkcom’s support, and we look forward to working with him as we build our grassroots movement to challenge the conventional thinking in Washington, D.C. and truly transform our country,” said Obama.  “Senator Bolkcom will play a vital role in our outreach efforts in the Johnson County area and across the state.”

To date, including Senator Bolkcom, Senator Obama has received 18 endorsements from Iowa state legislators including Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad, Rep. Deborah Berry, Sen. Bob Dvorsky, Rep. Elesha Gayman, Sen. Bill Heckroth, Rep. David Jacoby, Rep. Pam Jochum, Rep. Helen Miller, Sen. Rich Olive, Rep. Donovan Olson, Rep. Tyler Olson, Rep. Janet Petersen, Rep. Brian Quirk, Sen. Tom Rielly, Rep. Mark Smith, Sen. Steve Warnstadt, and Sen. Frank Wood.  Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller, State Treasurer Mike Fitzgerald, and former Iowa Democratic Party Chair Gordon Fischer have also endorsed Senator Obama’s campaign for change.

Edwards Campaign Releases A New Television Ad, “Twenty Generations,” In Iowa

EDWARDS CAMPAIGN RELEASES NEW TRAINING VIDEO FOR PRECINCT CAPTAINS AND CAUCUS GOERS
Campaign also releases a new television ad, “Twenty Generations,” in Iowa today

Des Moines, Iowa – The John Edwards for President Campaign today released a creative new instructional video, which chronicles the adventures of two precinct captains as they carry Senator John Edwards to victory on January 3, 2008.   The video, narrated by well-known voiceover artist and Edwards supporter, George DelHoyo, will be used at caucus trainings and precinct captain trainings across the state.

“John Edwards has been steadily building a strong and committed organization in all of Iowa’s 99 counties, including a dedicated team of precinct captains and supporters who will lead us to victory on caucus night,” said Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, Edwards' Iowa State Director.  “This innovative new effort will help us continue to train and mobilize precinct captains across the state to help John Edwards score victory on January 3rd and bring bold change to America as president.”

Edwards was the first presidential candidate to visit and take questions in all of Iowa’s 99 counties this year and to announce county steering committees in each of those counties.

The video is launching in conjunction with an online Caucus Command Center to provide precinct captains, activists and supporters the tools and resources they need to learn about caucusing, find out how they can help on caucus night, locate information on Edwards’ bold policies for America, and recruit others to join the Edwards team.  On the web site, supporters will be able to find their precinct location, offer to drive fellow supporters to caucus, request a ride to the caucus, and get detailed information about how caucusing works.  The Caucus Command Center can be found at: www.caucuscommandcenter.com.

Building on Edwards’ momentum in Iowa, including yesterday’s endorsement of Congressman Bruce Braley, the campaign also released a new ad in the state today. “Twenty Generations” focuses on Edwards’ belief that ensuring our children have a better life is the great moral test of our generation.  As president, Edwards will ensure a bright future for all of America’s children by taking on special interests and making sure Washington works for real people by providing universal heath care, eliminating poverty, rewarding hard work, not wealth.

Full Script of “Twenty Generations:”

Twenty generations of Americans have left their children a better life.  My dad worked in mills for thirty years to do it for us.  Now corruption and corporate greed mean we could be the first generation to fail.

I’ve spent my life fighting for families against big corporations that were crushing them.  They trusted me with their lives, and I fought for them with everything I had.

I’m John Edwards.  I approve this message because I want every American to be able to give their children a better life. That’s the moral test of our generation.

Tancredo Releases Newest TV Ad "Consequences"

Tancredo Releases Newest TV Ad
“Consequences” Hits the Airwaves

(Des Moines, IA) – Presidential candidate Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today released his newest television ad, entitled “Consequences”.  Building upon the success of “Tough on Terror” which was released on November 12th, this ad takes aim at the Central American gangs and the crimes they have perpetrated.

In a prepared statement Congressman Tancredo said, “I would like to introduce our second television ad which just as the first one focuses on the tragic consequences of open borders and massive uncontrolled immigration.  It addresses the dramatic increase in drugs, gangs, and violent crime because gutless politicians refuse to do their jobs.”

The ad began running in Iowa today, and the campaign is considering airing it in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Transcript:

Tom Tancredo: “I’m Tom Tancredo, and I approve this message, because someone needs to say it.”

Voiceover: Mothers killed.  Children executed.   The tactics of vicious Central American gangs, now on U.S. soil.  Pushing drugs. Raping kids. Destroying lives. Thanks to  gutless politicians who refuse to defend our borders.

One man dares say what must be done.  Secure the borders. Deport those who don’t belong. Make sure they never come back.
