Romney For President Launches New Television Ad "I Like Vetoes"

ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD, "I LIKE VETOES"

Boston, MA – Romney for President today launched its newest television ad, "I Like Vetoes."  The ad highlights Governor Romney's pledge to bring fiscal discipline back to Washington.  Governor Romney has proposed capping non-defense discretionary spending at inflation minus one percent and will veto any budget that exceeds that amount.

The ad will be begin airing today in Iowa and New Hampshire.  Scripts and viewing links are below.

Script For "I Like Vetoes" (TV:30):

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY:  "If I'm elected President, I'm going to cap non-defense discretionary spending at inflation minus one percent.

"That would save $300 billion in 10 years.

"And if Congress sends me a budget that exceeds that cap, I will veto that budget.

"And I know how to veto.  I like vetoes.  I've vetoed hundreds of spending appropriations as Governor.

"And frankly, I can't wait to get my hands on Washington!

Tom Eaton Endorses Governor Mitt Romney

FORMER NEW HAMPSHIRE SENATE PRESIDENT TOM EATON ENDORSES GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY

Romney For President Reports $23 Million In Total Receipts For First Quarter

ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT REPORTS $23 MILLION IN TOTAL RECEIPTS FOR THE FIRST QUARTER

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President announced it raised $23 million in total receipts for the First Quarter ending March 31, 2007.  The Campaign opted to raise no general election funds and raised $20.63 million in primary contributions.  The total includes a $2.35 million loan from Governor Romney.

The strength of Governor Romney's fundraising demonstrates that his message of change in Washington through innovation and transformation is resonating with people across this country.

"Governor Romney is winning over voters and supporters because he is the candidate with the best ideas and the most detailed vision for leading the country into the future.  Governor Romney's fundraising totals are indicative of the extraordinary success he has had reaching out and discussing important issues with the American people," said Romney for President campaign spokesman Kevin Madden.

Keith Hunter Joins Romney For President In Iowa

IOWA CHRISTIAN ALLIANCE BOARD MEMBER KEITH HUNTER JOINS ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT

Mitt Romney Names Glenda Hood To Florida Committee

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY NAMES FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE GLENDA HOOD TO THE FLORIDA STATEWIDE STEERING COMMITTEE

Boston, MA - Governor Mitt Romney today announced the endorsement of former Secretary of State and former Mayor of Orlando Glenda Hood.  She will serve as Co-Chair of his Florida Statewide Steering Committee and Chair of the Florida Municipal Elected Officials and Community Leaders Committee.

Mitt Romney Announces Ohio Committe Chairs

GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY ANNOUNCES OHIO FINANCE STEERING COMMITTEE CHAIRS

Boston, MA – Today, Governor Mitt Romney announced the Romney for President Ohio Finance Steering Committee led by S. Craig Lindner and Nancy Heffner Donovan.  The Ohio Finance Steering Committee will help Governor Romney raise the resources needed to campaign in Ohio and across the nation.

Jacksonville Leaders Endorse Mitt Romney

JACKSONVILLE LEADERS ENDORSE GOVERNOR MITT ROMNEY 

Boston, MA – Governor Mitt Romney today announced that three Jacksonville leaders have endorsed his candidacy for President of the United States, including State Representative Dick Kravitz and Jacksonville City Councilmen Lake Ray and Art Shad. All three will serve on Governor Romney's Duval County Steering Committee. 

"I'm honored by the tremendous support our organization continues to receive in Florida," said Governor Romney. "Representative Kravitz and Councilmen Ray and Shad are all accomplished and respected leaders in Jacksonville.
