STATEMENT BY CAMPAIGN MANAGER RICK DAVIS FOLLOWING FLORIDA GOP DEBATE

STATEMENT BY CAMPAIGN MANAGER RICK DAVIS FOLLOWING FLORIDA GOP DEBATE

ARLINGTON, VA -- Rick Davis, John McCain 2008 Campaign Manager, issued the following statement on tonight's Republican presidential debate:

"John McCain once again showed he is the only candidate with the character, judgment and most importantly, the experience not only to manage our country, but to lead as commander in chief from day one. John McCain is the only leader willing to take on the tough issues facing the next generation, including global climate change, reforming Social Security and Medicare and ensuring a safe and secure nation for generations to come.

"John McCain is the only conservative who can beat Senator Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat next November. John McCain's unmatched national security experience, consistent conservative record and demonstrated appeal to independent voters make him the most formidable opponent for Senator Clinton or any other Democrat nominee."

John McCain 2008 Launches New Television Ad, "Love America Enough"

JOHN MCCAIN 2008 LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD, "LOVE AMERICA ENOUGH"

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced a new television ad to run statewide in New Hampshire.  The new ad highlights John McCain's record of standing up to corrupting special interests, leadership in working to eliminate wasteful and irresponsible earmark spending, and judgment to call for a new strategy in Iraq over four years ago.  General election polling shows John McCain is the only candidate who can beat Hillary Clinton or any other Democratic nominee and his record of leadership on the critical issues differentiates him from the field.  The thirty and sixty second versions of the ad are entitled "Love America Enough."

Script for "Love America Enough" (:60-TV)

JOHN MCCAIN: "Since I've been in Washington, I've made a lot of people angry.

"I made defense contractors angry when I blew the whistle on a $30 billion dollar boondoggle and the culprits were sent to jail.

"I upset the special interests and Washington lobbyists when I passed campaign finance reform.

"I made the Pentagon angry when I criticized Rumsfeld's Iraq strategy, and I upset the media when I supported the strategy that's now succeeding.

"I angered the big spenders in Congress when I called for earmark and spending reform.  No more $233 million dollar bridges to nowhere or $74 million for peanut storage in a defense spending bill.

"I didn't go to Washington to win the Mr. Congeniality award.

"I went to Washington to serve my country.

"I might not like the business as usual crowd in Washington.  But I love America.  I love her enough to make some people angry.

"I'm John McCain and I approve this message."

John McCain 2008 Launches Radio Ad In New Hampshire

JOHN MCCAIN 2008 LAUNCHES NEW RADIO AD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced a new radio ad to run statewide in New Hampshire. The new ad highlights John McCain's leadership in working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect our national security through decreasing America's dependence on foreign oil. The 60-second ad is entitled "I Listened."

Script for "I Listened" (:60-Radio)

John McCain: "Eight years ago, I hadn't thought much about climate change. But the people of New Hampshire had."

Announcer: "John McCain talks about climate change."

John McCain: "And in every town hall I heard from you that climate change was real and was a serious threat to our environment and national security.

"I think the time is past when we argue about whether climate change is real or not. We have an obligation to future generations to take action and fix it.

"Not everyone heard you, but I did.

"And since then I've worked hard to find free market solutions to the problem because I know like you know: there's no problem too tough for the American people to tackle.

"One of those solutions is to reduce our dependence on foreign oil because it's not just a greenhouse gas issue; it's a national security issue.

"You were right New Hampshire, and I'm glad I listened to you.

"And I'm still listening.

John McCain: "I'm John McCain and I approved this message."

Announcer: "Paid for by John McCain 2008. John McCain.com"

John McCain 2008 Launches New Television Ad, "Outrageous"

JOHN MCCAIN 2008 LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD, "OUTRAGEOUS"

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today released a new television ad, entitled "Outrageous," to run statewide in New Hampshire and in the Boston market. The new ad focuses on John McCain's commitment to ending wasteful pork-barrel spending in Washington.
John McCain, named a "Taxpayer Hero" by Citizens Against Government Waste, has led the fight against wasteful spending. Time Magazine said McCain has "spent his entire Senate career exposing wasteful pork-barrel projects" while National Journal called him a "longtime foe of pork-barrel spending."

Long before it was politically popular, John McCain was leading a tough and often lonely fight against pork-barrel spending and government waste. McCain was an original co-sponsor of the Line Item Veto more than a decade ago and routinely votes against irresponsible spending bills. McCain was one of only four senators to vote against the pork-laden Highway Bill that contained the infamous "bridge to nowhere."

As John McCain said in New Hampshire this weekend, "It's pretty clear that Senator Clinton is running for president to continue business as usual. I'm running for president to put the business as usual crowd out of business."

Script for "Outrageous" (:30-TV)

ANNCR: 233 million for a bridge to nowhere.

Outrageous.

3 million to study the DNA of bears in Montana.

Unbelievable.

A million dollars for a Woodstock Museum -- in a bill sponsored by Hillary Clinton.

Predictable.

Who has the guts to stand up to wasteful government spending?

One man.

John McCain.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'll stop wasteful spending by Congress. And restore Americans' trust in their government.

JOHN MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approve this message.

FORMER POWS SUPPORT JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced the endorsement of nearly 80 former prisoners of war. Among the former POWs declaring their support for John McCain are admirals, generals, Medal of Honor recipients, executives, professors, authors and doctors. The average length of captivity for this group exceeds six years.

"John McCain is a remarkable patriot and leader," said Captain Mike Cronin, USN (Ret.). "John embodies the qualities of honor, integrity, loyalty and courage that are part of our nation's military tradition. No other candidate running for president is more qualified or more capable of leading our great country in these challenging times." Cronin is fellow Naval Academy graduate and was a POW for six years.

John McCain added, "During my military career, I had the honor of serving in the company of heroes in the brutal confines of POW camps in Vietnam. Our ordeal was incredibly long, arduous and painful, and those with whom I shared that experience made sacrifices unequaled in American history. They truly earned the description of hero and are symbols of what Americans are capable of doing. I am honored by their support."

SENATOR SAM BROWNBACK ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN FOR PRESIDENT

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today in Iowa, Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) endorsed John McCain for President of the United States. Senator Brownback will serve as a General Co-Chair of the campaign as well as Chair of the newly formed McCain Judicial Advisory Team. Senator Brownback will join John McCain in a campaign swing today through Iowa and Michigan, making stops in Dubuque, Des Moines, Sioux City and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Senator Brownback issued the following statement on his endorsement of John McCain:

"Today I am proud to endorse my friend and a true American hero, John McCain, for President of the United States. While I respect all of the Republicans running for president this year, John McCain is the only candidate who can rally the Reagan coalition of conservatives, Independents, and conservative Democrats needed to defeat Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat in the general election next year. John McCain has spent a lifetime standing up for human rights around the world, including a consistent 24-year pro-life record of protecting the rights of the unborn. John McCain alone has the courage, leadership and character to lead our party to victory in 2008 while keeping faith with our most cherished values -- life, faith and family."

John McCain issued the following statement accepting Senator Brownback's endorsement:

"I am deeply honored to receive the support of my friend Senator Sam Brownback. Sam Brownback is a man of faith and compassion whose integrity and unwavering commitment to protecting the dignity of human life, both born and unborn, has been an inspiration to me. We Republicans must stand firm in our deepest principles to rally the conservative Reagan coalition and win a great victory next November. Sam Brownback's counsel and friendship will be invaluable as we work to achieve this worthy goal, and I thank him for his support."
