Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty to Host “Rally for the Republic”
ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA – Congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul announced his plans today to hold a rally in Minneapolis, Minnesota during the Republican National Convention. Dubbed the Rally for the Republic, the rally will formally launch Dr. Paul's new political action group, the Campaign for Liberty, with a series of events culminating in a celebration of traditional Republican values at the 18,000 seat Target Center on Tuesday, September 2.
Dr. Paul will hold grassroots and leadership training events on August 31 and September 1, culminating in the all day Target Center event featuring high profile speakers including Grover Norquist, Tucker Carlson, Gov. Gary Johnson, Barry Goldwater Jr. and Bruce Fein. The event will also feature well know music entertainers to be announced soon.
The event has originally been scheduled for the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota, but strong initial response prompted a move to the bigger arena.
"The Rally for the Republic will send a powerful, positive message to the Republican Party that there is an army of grassroots activists across the country ready to work with them if steer back to their traditions of limited government and personal liberty," said Campaign for Liberty spokesman Jesse Benton.
