NASCAR LEGEND CALE YARBOROUGH ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN
COLUMBIA, SC -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that legendary NASCAR driver Cale Yarborough has endorsed John McCain for President of the United States.
"In 1968, I went to Vietnam to entertain the troops," said Yarborough. "I wanted to go to Hanoi, but the North Vietnamese said no. So, today I came here to meet John McCain. John McCain is a real American hero, and I am proud to endorse him for President of the United States."
John McCain thanked Mr. Yarborough stating, "Cale Yarborough is a NASCAR legend. He is well-known and well-loved by thousands of Americans. I am grateful to have his support."
Cale Yarborough was born in Timmonsville, South Carolina. He is the only driver in the history of NASCAR to win three consecutive championships. He is currently ranked fifth all-time in NASCAR wins with eighty-three victories.
