RNC ANNOUNCES WEB SITE RELAUNCH
New Site Includes Social Networking, Video Uploading and Mobile Content
WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee (RNC) today announced the launch of a completely redesigned version of its website, www.GOP.com. In addition to a completely new look, the site includes social networking properties, RSS feeds, blogs, and the option to receive GOP.com content on a mobile device.
“The new GOP.com is an easier, more attractive way for us to spread our message,” RNC Chairman Robert M. “Mike” Duncan said. “It’s a way for our supporters to get more involved. Now our voters can use cutting edge technology to communicate with us and each other, and to help develop and spread the Republican message themselves.”
The new GOP.com allows users to create a MyGOP account and interact with others, join issue groups, post blog entries and comment on articles. An account promises users the opportunity to create their own personal campaign goals, recruit others, share photos and videos, and blog on their personal page. The revolutionary ability to participate in forming and distributing the party’s message any time, any place and on any device will give audiences of all ages and technical abilities the opportunity to participate in Republican politics. A Spanish version of the website is available at espanol.gop.com.
