IRAQ WAR VETERAN JAMES MOWRER TO HEAD IOWA VETERANS FOR BIDEN COMMITTEE
Des Moines, Iowa (August 9, 2007) – The Biden for President Campaign today announced that James D. Mowrer, who recently returned from a 16-month mission in Iraq, has been named the Iowa Coordinator of Veterans for Biden.
“I chose to work for Senator Biden so that the troops still in Iraq will have the best Commander in Chief possible upon inauguration in January 2009,” said Mowrer, a Boone native who now lives in Des Moines. “Sen. Biden has the most comprehensive and realistic plan to exit Iraq without leaving the region in mass disorder.”
Mowrer’s appointment was announced by National Coordinator of Veterans for Biden J. B. White.
“Sen. Biden’s unwavering commitment to keeping our troops safe by his leadership in funding the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles sets him apart from the other Democratic presidential candidates,” said White, also an Iraq war veteran. “He is the only one who stood up for our brothers and sisters still in Iraq on that crucial vote back in May, and that’s why veterans and their family members will stand up for him at the caucuses in January.”
