John Kerry Launches New Television Ad in Iowa
Offers Plan to Provide Affordable Health Care
November 24, 2003 Washington, DC –
John Kerry will hit the airwaves on Wednesday with a new television ad in Iowa. The 30-second ad highlights John Kerry’s personal fight to stand up to George W. Bush and provide Americans with quality affordable healthcare.
Kerry spokesperson Stephanie Cutter said, “John Kerry is fighting for Americans who can’t afford their health care because George Bush has put lobbyists ahead of our families. John has offered a plan to stop rising healthcare costs, cover every child and provide Americans the very same coverage that the President and Members of Congress give themselves.”
Tomorrow will mark the sixth round of ads from John Kerry’s campaign in Iowa. The ad will be aired in every Iowa media market.
Text of Ad:
John Kerry: A few months ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I'm cured now, but I was lucky. As a United States Senator, I could get the best healthcare in the world. Most people aren't so lucky and we need to change that. That's why my plan gives every American access to the same healthcare that Congress gives itself.
I'm John Kerry and I approved this message because your family’s healthcare is just as important as any politician’s in Washington.
