ROMNEY CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES IOWA WOMEN FOR MITT
Des Moines, IA – Romney for President today announced the Leadership Team of Iowa Women for Mitt. These leaders will be guiding the campaign’s outreach to women statewide. They will be the primary point of contact for women in their communities who are increasingly looking to get involved in the Romney-Ryan campaign and will conduct outreach to women’s groups across the Hawkeye State.
Women across Iowa are supporting Governor Romney’s campaign so that we can reduce our deficit, put Americans back to work, and preserve Medicare for current retirees, those nearing retirement and future generations. Women know that the President’s $700 billion in cuts to Medicare to pay for a government takeover of health care was the wrong policy for both seniors and future generations.
President Obama has attempted to distract women from his failed record with discredited attacks against Governor Romney. But no false, recycled attacks can distract from the fact that President Obama’s four years in office haven’t been kind to women. Hundreds of thousands of women have lost their jobs, poverty among women is highest in nearly two decades, and half of recent graduates can’t find a good job. Middle-class families have struggled in the Obama economy, and Mitt Romney has a plan to strengthen the middle class and get our country back on the right track.
Yesterday, “Women for Mitt” hosted its first event featuring Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, Ambassador Mary Kramer, State Rep. Renee Schulte, and other women leaders discussing how President Obama has weakened Medicare and slowed the economy for women and families.
