RNC CHAIRMAN MICHAEL STEELE ANNOUNCES NEW COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele today announced the hiring of Doug Heye as Communications Director and the promotion of Katie Wright to Deputy Communications Director.
Heye, a veteran of Capitol Hill and political campaigns, served as a Communications Director in Steele’s 2006 U.S. Senate campaign and Senator Richard Burr’s victorious 2004 U.S. Senate campaign, as well as in similar roles in both the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate.
Wright, who has served in the committee’s press operation in both the current election cycle and the 2008 cycle, brings a wealth of experience and institutional knowledge to her new role.
“I’m proud to have Doug Heye join our team,” Steele said today. “His experience in campaigns and the halls of Congress brings a unique skill set to our communications operation. Both Doug and Katie will help our team as we move towards victory in November.”
