Voice: Everything has changed.  Americans want a president who is prepared to deal with threats to our security--those we know and those we don't.
Who has the experience to protect us? It's an important question.
Wes Clark has dedicated his life to defending our security, our principles.  He's led armies, forged coalitions, and helped negotiate a peace.
At a time like this, don't we need a president like that?

Clark: I'm Wes Clark and I approve this message.

Wes Clark's different.  He put his career on the line to fight for what he believed in and looked out for those he led, not himself.
He's got humble roots.  Wes Clark will never forget where he's from or who he's for.
It's leadership.
A politician won't change the way Washington works.  Wes Clark will.

"Future" New Wesley Clark 2004 TV Ad

Clark Campaign: Third Clark Ad Begins Airing Tomorrow in Wisconsin
1/28/2004

'Future' will focus on Wes Clark's plan for Families First tax reform

MILWAUKEE--Wes Clark's Families First tax reform plan is the subject of a new television ad that begins airing in Wisconsin tomorrow.

"Future" becomes the third Wes Clark ad to air in Wisconsin. The Clark campaign has had the Wisconsin airwaves to itself since Jan. 6, when it began running its first ad, "Responsibility."

"Future" will air in the Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Wausau-Rhinelander, and Eau Claire-La Crosse media markets.

The Clark campaign has been aggressive in its approach to Wisconsin, which holds one of the country's most important presidential primaries Feb. 17. Clark's Wisconsin organization is second to none and Clark has the broadest Wisconsin endorsment list of any candidate.

Yesterday, Clark won the tightly contested non-New Englander primary in New Hampshire--a strong finish for the first-time candidate who had far less time to campaign in the state than the other Democrats in the race. Clark is positioned to do well in the southern and western Feb. 3 primary states, which will give him a strong bounce as he heads to Wisconsin.

The script for "Future" follows:

"Responsibility" New Wesley Clark 2004 TV Ad

Clark Campaign: Presidential Primary Season Begins in Wisconsin
January 4, 2004

Wes Clark begins airing TV ads in the state Tuesday
as supporters intensify grassroots efforts

MILWAUKEE—In an aggressive move to earn the support of Wisconsin voters, presidential candidate Wes Clark will begin airing television ads in the state on Tuesday. The decision to air ads comes at the same time hundreds of active Clark supporters are ramping up their grassroots efforts.

Clark’s ad, “Responsibility,” will air in the Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, La Crosse-Eau Claire, and Wassau-Rhinelander media markets. Clark is the first presidential candidate who will run ads continuously through the state’s Feb. 17 primary.

Clark supporters are already active across the state, and they plan to begin an intense voter identification and persuasion effort through the campaign’s three Wisconsin field offices on Tuesday.

The Clark campaign is enjoying increasing momentum nationwide, and the intensification of its efforts in Wisconsin comes in the wake of an extraordinarily successful fundraising quarter in which Wes Clark raised well over $10 million and also qualified for $3.7 million in federal matching funds.

“The holidays are over and people in Wisconsin are starting to focus on the presidential race.” said Clark ’04 Wisconsin Press Secretary Nick Berning. “Voters are looking for a leader, not a conventional politician—they’re looking for Wes Clark. We’re stepping it up in Wisconsin to make sure they find him.”

Clark will next be in Wisconsin for a forum with Governor Jim Doyle in Racine on January 13.

Script of "Responsibility" (TV)

(On screen: Photos of U.S. soldiers in combat)

ANNOUNCER [v/o]: The first bullet shattered his hand. The second and third hit his shoulder and leg. As he hit the jungle floor, he rallied the troops and directed the fire fight. He remained with his unit until the battle was over.

(On screen: Awarded the Silver Star)

Now, when we need a leader to clean up the mess in Iraq, he's the one who has done it. In the Balkans, he helped negotiate a peace between bitter enemies...

(On screen: responsibility)

... and led a multinational force that stopped a campaign of terror, liberated a people and brought peace without the loss of a single American soldier. He speaks four languages, but his actions speak more eloquently than words. He can get our country moving on jobs and health care. A quiet, real American courage. And a man who cares first about the people he leads.

Wes Clark's life is simply an American story, but he will make an extraordinary American president.
